Re: Trazodone

My doctor also prescribed Trazadone, but a smaller dosage. With the 50mg pill, I can take up to two pills. I only take one, and that just occasionally. I've tracked Sleepyhead data, and the trazadone makes no difference in my breathing patterns or AHI. It does give me a better shot at a restful nigh...

Re: Respironics DreamWear under the nose mask

Thanks...others mentioned this, too. I'm going to try it. I didn't get the padding cover for the air tubes on the sides of my face and being a side sleeper, I hate the indentions on my face for hours after I get up, so end up trying to sleep on my back which I hate...that doesn't help. :) Welcome t...

Re: Options to buy a second machine?

BTW, most internet DMEs just require a prescription of any date. It's some insurance companies that require a current prescription. FYI, when I purchased my Airstart 10 last month from cpap.com, I already had a current prescription on file with them for the Airsense 10 Autoset (and supplies). They ...

Re: Airsense 10 powered by GB150 test

Note to others, buying the side cover is not necessary to run without the humidifier, just leave the tank in and turn the humidity level to "off". The reason I like the side cover is that it makes the machine easier to pack for travel - I can put my mask in the humidifier compartment instead of jam...

Re: Options to buy a second machine?

Any doctor can write you a prescription for a cpap, and of course the sleep lap wants to get paid for an additional study. My main machine is a Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset, and I wanted a second (cheaper) machine for travel and backup. I told my sleep doc exactly what I wanted and why, and he wrote t...

I have the same mask, and use the small size for both the nasal cushion and the gel pillows.

Re: Nuance Gel vs Dream wear Gel

I see. I took a look at a photo online of the Dreamwear headgear and I don't think it would do what I want. I'm in search of head gear that doesn't go across the top of the head. Why isn't going around the back enough? I'm not sure I understand what the top strap accomplishes. For me, it seems that...

Re: Where do you put your machine?

Mine is on my nightstand, but when I used humidity I had to keep it lower to avoid rainout.

Re: CA Campgrounds with Electricity

Camp Edison (owned by Southern California Edison) at Shaver Lake - each campsite has electrical outlets.

We enjoy camping at Memorial Park in San Mateo County. They have electrical outlets in the bathrooms. We camp near the bathrooms, and I charge my battery there during the day.

Is the Airsense louder with the side plate in place of the water chamber?
Not a bit. I switched from humidifier to cover plate over a year ago, and there's still no sound from my machine.

Re: Airport security and CPAP unit

1. Not completely sure about your comment but yes its allowed but its till going to be inspected. 2. They see 1,000s of laptops and bottles of medications a day, probably not too many cpap's. In checking the TSA website I think cpaps would fall under large electronics. A CPAP is classified as medic...

Re: Do I need to worry about these leaks, tried Dreamwear last night

If your hair is long enough, put it in a ponytail and run the strap below the ponytail. If your hair is too short for that, you could try a barrette or sort of hair clip hold the strap in place. Some have found that putting a bit of velcro on the inside of the strap helps keep it from sliding.

Re: My follow up visit

Be sure to keep track of those rent to own payments especially if there is a copay. My DME tried to bill me after the 10 months were complete. I had to call and get the bill canceled. If you're on Medicare, or if your insurance company follows Medicare guidelines, your rental period will be 13 mont...
