Airsense 10 card to cloud
Been a while since I posted. I stopped using CPAP after I developed asthma from a Dreamstation. It's part of the MDL class action going on. It's taken a long time to try and get it under control. They sent me a "fixed" Dreamstation but there's no way I'm using it, especially after the last consent d...

Re: Sleeping pills and sleep apnea
The main thing is that sleeping pills won't help improve sleep quality for someone with with apnea. They may help you fall asleep but you can still be interrupted unless you are taking huge amounts of drugs. I use Ambien and Lunesta every night due to long term chronic insomnia and without the machi...

Re: Using fixed pressure -- higher AHI but better sleep?
Go with what you feel. I had similar issues when I used a bi-pap machine, I wasn't getting as rested.
I switched to an APAP machine and worked my way up to a minimum of 18 which seems to work well. My AHI went up some but like you I feel better.

Re: Where do you put your machine?
Someone else already mentioned this but I use the Perdue CPAP nightstand. They sell them at Wayfair.com for about $50 less than Amazon including free shipping. I find they work great. I have a hose reel attached just above my pillow also.

Re: magic mask or sales hype
One thing, if it's actually memory foam it's reactive to body heat. Until it warms up it's not going to seal as well.
I already have the Airfit F20 so may as well give it a shot since I only have to buy the cushion.
I have way too many masks and probably too many machines....

One of the reasons I haven't posted for months.Bertha deBlues wrote:And this is why I sometimes stay away for days or weeks at a time. The screaming in red capital letters and enormous font, the name calling, the bickering. Yikes! Probably time to stay away again.

Re: Full face masks: with and without the forehead part
I am relatively new in the cpap world (2.5 months), and my first FF mask (in addition to Amara View which is irrelevant to my question) is ResMed AirFit F10. It belongs to the family of FF masks WITHOUT the forehead part. There is a family WITH it - for example, ResMed Quattro Air (it is very simil...

Re: Emergency help needed
After I cleaned my filter and water tank recently I accidentally neglected to put my filter back in. It actually ran for a couple of nights without it. No harm was done to either me or the machine. Mine is an ASV, too. =============== i found one site that said never to run their machine with OUT a...

Re: AHI numbers and other data
I'm FINALLY able to sleep through the night using a chin strap without pulling off all the headgear, but my AHI is 2.6 --- I know other numbers have to be factored in. I have data from Sleephead I could copy to Imur but don't know which rows are most important. I'd look it up but I'm still SO sleep...

Re: Newbie: Helping your spouse get used to your CPAP usage.
Hello All! I was diagnosed with OSA a couple of weeks ago, and have been coming to this great site every day for advice and helpful tips. I started CPAP therapy 8 days ago and all has not been well in my household. The machine is super quiet, I've had few mask leaks, but whenever I do, they wake bo...

Re: F10 vs F20 sizing
For people that have used both mask was there a sizing difference between the two? I'm a medium in F10 so would I be a medium in F20? Just wondering if the sizing changed between the too. Don't have a printer to print out guide. Will try to go to staples after work tho but just wanted to ask. I hav...

Re: Dreamstation Test Drive
Interesting. I have both the Dreamstation Auto and the Airsense 10. I find my AHI is lower with the Airsense, and I seem to sleep better. I have tried switching back and forth on a weekly basis, but the Airsense edges out the Dreamstation for me. Maybe because my main problem is hypopneas not obstr...

Re: OT: Colonoscopy Prep
I've had 2 of them. The first I went through a basic prep, Miralax and Gatorade. Unfortunately I found out that I have an extra long colon so they couldn't finish the test. On the second round I had to start two days before with Magnesium Citrate and Ducolax. I then had to do 1 gallon of Golytely th...

Re: Depression medicine: Mirtazapine ?
One thing to keep in mind is that Mirtazapine is also prescribed to increase appetites in chemo patients. Weight gain is a common side effect- about 17% IIRC.
