Re: has anyone done at home sleep study's?
By reading these boards, i know sone insurance companies will not pat for a lab test until you've taken a home test. I do believe a lab test follows in most cases, as long as apnea shows up in TNT home test. I'm not sure how the home tests work, so you will have to get that reply from someone else.

Re: Suddenly feeling claustrophobic / panicky
Well ya not panic attack. Wrong term there. Just gasping for air feeling, smothered, claustrophobic feeling. Afterwards I can putvmyv mask back on without a problem. MY AHI is very low (1-2) so I don't think it's an apnea event but cant rule out the possibility either. Bipap... pressures are 11/16

Suddenly feeling claustrophobic / panicky
The past few nights when I've woken up (I only wake once or twice a night) , I've been panicky and literally ripped off my my mask. This is odd because I've been on Cpap for a month now and this is the first I've been like that. Could it be it's because I'm waking from a deeper sleep? What can I do ...

Could it be the air condition in the room in which you sleep ?

Success story
I've been using my ResMed AirCurve Vauto now for a month. At first I hated it. I could not get used to the mask and pressures and was habing a real tough time. I was miserable, even more miserable then before therapy... But I stuck with it. After trying different masks and techniques I learned here ...

Re: Frustrated with the wait...
Apparently the sleep center will not release details of my report from the calibration/titration of CPAP machine for at least a week therefore putting off initiation of my treatment. The therapist knows what settings and fittings worked during that time. Why the wait? Sorry to vent...I'm just tired...

Re: Changing masks makes a huge difference
So initially I was using the nasal pillow and I just couldn't breath. I gave it a shot for a week and although my AHI went down, I didn't feel refreshed. Yesterday I switched to the WISP nasal mask for the first time and sleep 8hours waking up just once and feeling better and bit more refreshed. My...

Re: AHI observation based on sleep position
Yes, it's normal and happens to many people... a cardiac issue, but not one to worry about. There is that much difference in AHI between left and right side sleeping? That is incredible. I will have to get a night stand for the right side of the bed and set up my machine there! Well I don't have en...

Re: AHI observation based on sleep position
I'm not sure what you mean by this? On your back, gravity easily pulls your tongue into the back of your throat and restricts your airway. On your side, gravity adds resistance to keep your tongue from slipping into your airway and the force vector is also significantly eliminated/reduced to keep y...

AHI observation based on sleep position
Bipap user 3.5 wks in
I had been averaging 15-20 AHI per night when I was sleeping on my left side. I fell asleep on my right side last nigh and all the sudden my AHI went down to 1.5. Just thought it was an interesting observation. Does anyone have an explanation or had similar findings?

Leak levels barely into the red zone?
3 wks in on Bipap.
I've noticed about half the nights that my leak level will barely go into the red zone. Shold I really worry about such a small infraction?
