Re: Medigap
I have heard that the full Plan F (there is a high deductible version that is somewhat cheaper, but I don't know what the deductible is) will be phased out in a few years. My high-deductible Plan F has a $2,200 annual deductible. That sounds really high, but to date I've never come even CLOSE to pa...

How bad is the CHF? Do you know your ejection rates? Was it 45 or below? Some docs won't dispense the ASV machines because of how bad a person might have CHF. There was a study some time back that scared everyone about what happened with ASV users who had ejection rates 45 or less. Are you aware of ...

Like chunkyfrog, I, too have a supplement (AKA Medigap) Plan F. I have yet, in the ten years I've had it, had to pay a single penny for any procedures or devices prescribed. As she stated, it is not cheap, but when compared to the co-pays for surgery, it has not only been an economic win, but it off...

Study of Vetrans at UF Gainesville Re: compliance support
University of Florida Gainesville is the host site of a study sponsored be the VA, University of Florida, and Philips Respironics. Though sponsored by PR, I see no implication they require no specific machine use in the study. If compliance is an issue, and one is a veteran living where Gainesville,...

...In other countries, where distilled water is not as easy to get, the cpap manuals say "Use water", not "use distilled water". AND another thing. Blatant product placement - shouldn't it be capatalized, though?

Re: how much "stuff" is attached to you?
It would be hard to sleep with all that stuff on me! Please ask yourself this first: "...if I take meds, which do I leave at home because they might be too much of a burden"? If you put too much effort in trying to remember what you can forget, you may someday forget something you should have remem...

Re: Bathroom trips. Turn off or leave my Airsense on?
Always turn it off - either manually or through smart start - otherwise your numbers are garbage. Somehow I think you would rather take the time to turn it off than spend the time trying to do the math needed to extract the effects of the huge leak while on the toilet.

They often devalue "chasing zero," in your case if catching it occasionally makes you feel the way you do its value is well restored. Enjoy the view from where you are - do not be discouraged if it is sometimes foggy, though. Relax and enjoy the comfort of a good night's sleep.

Re: Backup machines
Both my primary and backup machines are AirSense 10 AutoSets - there is a slight difference in that my primary (the newer of the two machines) has two options for response: Standard and Soft, although I can't be certain of the differences, so I leave it on Standard. That brings up a question, though...

Sold: on eBay AirCurve 10 S zerohours $450
It's all a moot point in any case - the seller sold the unit for $439.00 at 10:43 today (8/16/2018). I feel certain the buyer will soon know the truth and respond appropriately.

Without knowing how wet the paper napkins will get, I would be very concerned that paper dust and residue would be transported into my lungs. That, I would think, could be problematic to say the least. In situations like this I would be inclined to seek out a DME with a nearby physical location and ...

Re: Recent clinical study on efficacy or cpap therapy
The same with colonoscopies. They do not help. There is a study which shows patients who had colonoscopies performed die at the same rates from colon cancer as those who do not have it done. Colonoscopies are intended to treat nothing - they are mechanisms for evaluation. Just as a doctor may inser...
