Contrary to popular belief, you can put lipstick on it and it does look better.

Re: Resmed S9 Autoset power supply pin broke off in machine!

2. Buy the $5 part from Mouser, and solder that to the appropriate wires on my original PSU? While it looks like a stanadard HP type plug, those all have an insulator section on the end. I could never get these to work in my Resmed machine. Possibly grinding that down on a piece of sandpaper till f...

Re: Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide in your CPAP?

I'll try it. You can brush your teeth with it. Hospitals use a mist of it to sanitize operating rooms. Ought to make a good hose cleaner. My mother got me to sleep with a bar of Irish Spring soap!

Re: Thankful for battery backup during power outage

I use one of these on my battery. It will measure watts, volts and amps. In addition it records peak amps, total watt and amp hours as well as peak amps and watts along with minimum battery voltage. I love these little units and have several. Fairly accurate but may show a few milliamps with no load...

Re: Resmed S9 Autoset power supply pin broke off in machine!

I always travel with two cpap machines. You have a bad power supply plug and a damaged jack in the machine. Seems like it is time to cut the cord and solder it in directly. Add a three pin connector if separation is desired. There might be a way to push it out from inside. OR........Ta Ta, Use my tw...

Re: Thinking of getting Dreamwear mask

Go away for a while and you miss things. I don't think I could succeed without DreamWear. I do have some problems at times with the standard DreamWear. Just looked it up and DreamWear Gel Nasal sounds like it is worth a try.

Re: Noisy Resmed Airsense 10

Mine seems to be a little noisier than it was. One interesting thing is it can get really noisy if the tank is not properly inserted. Even pressing tank in will not fix it no matter how hard you push. Pulling the tank out and reinserting it does fix it. Appears to be a problem with the internal flex...

Re: Resmed 10 on my camp 12V solar power

SnoringMan..... I hadn't been back here in six months so never saw your post. I see you got the same crap as I did when I said I was going to do this a year ago. When I looked 12V machines were pretty old stuff. My source had Resmed tahat was reasonable. I run almost a half dozen voltages at the cam...

Resmed 10 on my camp 12V solar power

I spend five months of the year at my camp that is off grid. The setup is a little unusual as it runs just on a 12V car battery from a vehicle we don't bring with us. Everything runs only during the day when the sun shines. We get refrigeration, lights, TV and hot water all from PV solar. It is not ...

Re: Total Time in Apnea (TTIA)

The OP gave an extreme example, but a week ago I woke up after 4 hours. My AHI was something like 0.7. When I got up in the morning it was 8.8. A lot happened in that 4 hours. Just how did AHI get to be prom queen? I would have thought having the highest number of events in any 60 minute period woul...

Re: Total Time in Apnea (TTIA)

TTIA seems to track AHI almost identically, but I never hear what peoples total time is. If there are good events than AHI is just as meaningless.

Re: Total Time in Apnea (TTIA)

I don't think the question was really answered. I don't see why total time isn't as good a marker as AHI for the kind of sleep you had that night. While it doesn't tell you how to correct the issue, it is a pretty good marker and I don't see why it isn't talked about more.

Re: Need urgent help: ResMed fried on 240v

I have doubts you could see much if you opened it up. The weight and resonance of the case indicates to me that they likely potted the electronics in epoxy. I have a solar powered camp and use a lot of these wall warts to power things. Busted open dozens to modify them and these Resmed feel differen...

Re: What would be a reasonable amount to pay for...

These machines are whatever people can get for them. That will vary greatly by location and how fast you need one. I was renting one and had several months to buy my own without pressure. I bought an Autosense 10 with about 200 hours and a new heated hose for $200 and got a backup Autosense 10 with ...

Re: A Suddenly Higher AHI

I had to look that up. I caught some flu thing from my wife, chills a few days and some mild congestion. Really not that bad, nothing like the usual stuff that will keep you up at night. My AHI however went through the roof. MyAir even emailed me and said I should see a doctor then gave a star and g...
