Is there a war on CPAP, Dreamwear users

I'm going on 6 years using CPAP. The mask I've always used was Dreamwear. Except for the first, never purchased them from authorized sources. They were cheap and even though they said they were missing one item, they always came complete. I just orderd one from my last source and it came without the...

Re: new to this... found used Resmed 10 Autoset with 944 hrs

It all depends on where you are and your time frame. I bought two Autoset 10 from a DME guy on craigslist while I was still renting. The spare one with 970 hours was $150 and came with a new hose. First had 200 hours and cost $200. Took a couple months to get both. I know people ask a lot more for t...

Hydrogen peroxide works well for my tube maintenance and leaves no smell.

Re: Do You Set Your Pressure Or Let The Machine Adjust

I bought an auto after several months of renting a fixed CPAP. Thought problem solved. Instead my problems skyrocketed at higher pressure. That happens in rare cases. After a couple months went back to fixed pressure. It takes a couple weeks to develop a true baseline for any setting.

Re: Resmed autosense 10

You didn't say what your pressure is now. I bought an Airsense 10 with the expectation that the machine would find the ideal setting, it didn't. For a couple of days it was better and then the events went climbing. This happens with some and I went back to cpap. Give any setting time to develop base...

Re: Yet another battery pack question

I would add that AH rating of a couple year old battery can be illusive. The battery went bad in my car at work. I had another battery there, but when tested it was 0V. Put it on a little 6A charger. Took 30 minutes before it started drawing a charge current. After two hours I needed to get going so...

Re: CPAP Machine Shuts Off At Night

Wait a minute, I have the machine coming back on after a power failure and it never shuts off with no one there (I at least know it won't for at least a half hour). I've tried to stop that with smart and dumb settings to no avail. So I don't think it is shutting off from a power glitch.

Re: Dreamware mask questions

My sleep study told me to use a MW nose piece. I did that for three months until one day the fitting chart fell out of the package. That said I was a medium. You can learn to live with about anything.

Re: Dreamware mask questions

I've been using Dreamwear for over a year and just recently got the pillows. I've been switching back and fourth depending on what kind of night I'm having. This has been complicated by my doing a chemical peel for the last three weeks for sun damage and my face is on fire. The pillows seem to solve...

Re: Supply replacement without insurance,....

Haven't used insurance since the first few months of machine rental. When deductible reset in the new year I just bought two machines on my own. Dreamwear was a $60 upcharge. I bought a replacement shipped for that so using insurance would just cost me more. I went a year before changing mask and it...

Re: Audible sound in my tubing...???

The Blugle effect, or flow past slots. If you have an old hose, hold one end and swing it around your head. The tone will change the faster it swings around. Only it doesn't change a little, it jumps an octave at a time (three are usually possible).

Re: Airsense 10 Cellular Modem Question,...

Remember the Canadian company that was gathering data from a smart phone "connected" vibrator? The same thing, data. My "DME like person" reset my machine so I could log into Resmed and create an account, not possible unless the person you bought it from gives you their email address and password.

Re: CPAP Doesn't Work because nose is clogged

I use on occasion KAZ Steam Activated Inhalant that can be found at Wallmart for a couple bucks. A lifetime supply. Basically menthol Vicks Vapo Rub in a liquid form to be put in vaporizers. I just rub it just on the inside of the nose. It might just kill me, but if you can't sleep.

Re: Yet another battery pack question

I use an Airsense 10 without humidity off grid and these are my typical usage for four days at nominal 12V. Not going to look up that battery pack but as said before W = A times V and these numbers should follow. 12V BOOST INVTERTER .55A STANDBY .45A SLEEP .05A BOOST CONVERTER ONLY WH WP AH AP 63.8 ...
