Re: Help! Don't understand sleep study results-no REM
Just to add a bit more - A sleep study s a very unnatural sleep experience. It's very difficult to extrapolate from a night of wired up sleeping in a strange bed to normal sleep experiences. So lack of REM and lots of arousals may or may not be typical. That said, feeling tired and fatigued needs to...

Re: Flow Limitation
My personal experience is in line with the "Stanford dudes" above. My sleep study treated to the standard less than 5 AHI with similar Flow limitations. Over the last few months, unhappy with the flow limitations I was seeing I worked to lower/eliminate the FL as well as the AHI components. Results ...

My only advice is do not do anything you would not want to become public.

You also may need to contact the credit rating agencies and make sure this is disputed and does not affect your credit rating.

Re: Using a CPAP machine can improve sex lives for some, study says
Or being so damn tired you could not care less about sex, only sleep. I am convinced that untreated SA was a major cause of my divorce. I worked all day then tied to get some rest for the remainder of my time awake or asleep. As a slight aside, that is why I really do not understand those that fear ...

Re: Snoring
Not all snoring is SA, that is why the experts say that even heavy snoring is not definitive for sleep apnea. Or at least that is my understanding. As to how the various machines determine a snore I don't know, I suspect it a variation or rapid fluctuation of the pressure or flow. So I am with Pugsy...

Re: Still Tired After 6 Mos of CPAP
+1 on Hosecrushers reply. Looks pretty much like you are not getting particularly disturbed. There is a possibility of UARS based on your flow limitations, slightly more pressure may help but UARS diagnosis and treatment is tricky and not subject to agreement among experts, much less internet pros.

Re: Nocturia and drug treatment
I can tell you that just because the urine is pale, does NOT mean you are well hydrated. I do NOT drink enough water. I am always being told I need to drink more water. What test is used to show that you are not well hydrated? NO tests, just pretty obvious. I drink about 2 cups of water per day, ma...

Re: Can Sleep Apnea Cause Death?
Dying directly of Sleep Apnea does happen. Dying of the complications of Sleep Apnea is much more common. Note that even if one dies of Sleep Apnea, the death certificate might say heart attack or list some other immediate cause. This is due to not being able to prove that Sleep Apnea is the direct...

Re: CPAP versus AutoPAP: are there really advantages to each?
Seems that in my case my biggest issue is controlling leaks, and using a single pressure seems to make leak control easier. That said, I have only in the last month or so got my pressure high enough to consistently keep my AHI near 1. I have not yet experimented with the Auto feature to see of thing...

Re: Which graph(s) show REM sleep?
While I agree with the Frog, there are some who claim that REm sleep can be distinguished from other sleep due to a more erratic breathing pattern seen on the tidal volume graph, during REm sleep the tidal volumes are more erratic. I think one would have to be awfully experienced to even try to gues...

Definitely not normal. See your Dr. Sounds like asthma attacks o me, but too little data yields poor results most often.

Re: AHI ranging from 3 to 24 averaging 9. Doctor says it's fine
I'd get a new Dr, any Dr that thinks obesity is a simple matter of eating less is not currently in that field, it's way more complicated than that, although it is a simple truism that eating less is a solution, just much of a doable solution. Your shown data is not good, not only does it show a lack...
