Re: CPAP not for me

I definitely struggled to be compliant as well but it does take work. For me I would watch TV with it on. I know it's not good sleep hygiene but watching a movie while trying to fall asleep made me focus on the movie and not the mask. I'd recommend putting the TV on a timer to shut off. I would even...

Re: Need cooler air

You're probably right, Jim, sorry I mentioned it, thought I read it here before. I've noticed my "Tanks", draw power all the time when off, and tend to stay warm even in a cool room, I'm sure they aren't worried about power usage or anything useful, but it does insure moisture is kept from building...

Re: Dating after divorce & CPAP

As a chronic dater I was worried about my mask being a 3rd wheel, but surprisingly I have never had a bad reaction to it. I even had one girl say that the faint inhale/exhale coming from the machine made a great white noise that helped her sleep. (Resmed S9 at the time) I'll go a step further and sa...

Re: My air app

Importing SD data shouldn't be an issue as they make micro SD readers for phones. The only issue is that most are micro SD card readers, so would need to use a micro chip and I'm not sure if CPAP SD cards have a special formatting or not.

Re: My air app

Can you download Sleepyhead to a ipad? I don't want to have to buy a computer just for that.

My air app

I just switched to the Air curve elite and started using the my air app as well. I was wondering if there was a way to see what my pressure range was while sleeping with the auto mode. I mean it tells you everything else like AHI and mask fit. Not important info but I'm curious nonetheless.

Re: Audio recording of snoring

On my phone I use an app called sleep talk. It's actually meant to record talking in your sleep, but works just as well for your purposes. It doesn't record continuously, just when it detects noises. Works really well. I've had it for a few years now so can't remember if it's a free app or not. I sh...

Re: Dreamstation + Airfit 20

The machine is going to be cranking out X amount of pressure no matter which mask is used but that pressure can "feel" different between different masks. The Auto On feature can be a bit tricky sometimes depending on how forcefully someone breathes or doesn't breathe with some masks. Try putting yo...

Dreamstation + Airfit 20

I recently switched from the Resmed Quattro FX mask to the Airfit. I really like the new mask but am having issues trying to dial it in with the new Dreamstation. To start with, the F20, It won't auto start when I put the mask on, but it will with the older mask. Also with the older mask, I feel a m...

Re: What mask should I try first?

If you ever go on youtube, there is a guy that does pretty good reviews on just about every mask available that I was looking into including the Amara view. His channel name Thelankylefty27. I can only give input myself on two masks as they are the only ones I used extensively. The first is the resm...

Re: No any improvement after 7 days of APAP therapy

I wouldn't say that it 100% works for me but I definitely can tell the last few days having not used my cpap due to issues that it at least helps. I can say that with cpap I 100% don't snore at all.

Side sleeper+Full face mask suggestions

So as the title states, I am a side sleeper (Congestion prevents sleeping on my back) and currently use a Resmed Quattro FX mask. While the mask isn't horrible, it's not great either. Particularly the strap area. I'm looking for suggestions for a possibly better mask. I should mention, in doing a se...

Re: Why do some people still use CPAP?

Regrettably, I had the surgery. As mentioned, the pain was unreal and didn't subside for several weeks. One real issue I noticed is that before the surgery, I was able to use nasal pillows, but now am limited to full face masks as air just goes in through my nose and gets expelled straight out of m...

Re: Resmed S9 Face wash

Rainout commonly came up during searches but I am confident that is not the problem particularly because of the amount of air being pushed into my mask and darn near being pushed off my face. The mask almost feels like a military hovercraft hovering over my face when it's ramped up out of control. A...
