Re: VA has been good until now

When i went to VA about my sleep deprivation the other week asking for something to make me sleep better so maybe i would feel more awake i was asked a million questions. I kept saying anesthesiologist said i had sleep apnea and I'm awaiting on study results. But no Dr kept trying to ask me if i was...

Re: Positive health effects from treatment?

I've had hypertension since i was in service so exercise won't help that lol, i quit smoking and that did nothing, ate healthy reduced salt blah blah blah and none of that ever made a difference so I'm hoping CPAP therapy does! Once i actually have energy again i do want to start exercising more aga...

Positive health effects from treatment?

So I'm curious what possible positive health effects i might experience? Currently i have hypertension that is not ideally controlled. I gained 40 pounds in a couple months while in service, elevated liver enzymes since i got out of service, just found our I'm pre- diabetic. Assuming these things ar...

Re: Cpap insurance compliance issues

I can tell you what a stranger's insurance did and i have no idea who insures them.
The guy was at 60% compliance and his insurance requires 70%.
He was told to come back in a few more weeks after using it more to meet the compliance requirement before they could order more supplies.

Re: Poll: What Mask type do you use?

Curious what is most popular. Also please feel free to post specific mask as well if you wish. I wonder...What did this poll prove that almost any of us couldn't tell you? I got a lot of poll responses it seems from the lurkers and not just the people who post all the time. Plus with new masks I as...

Fitbit Ionic vs Sleep study results

I just thought I would post images from Fitbit that I wore during sleep study so people can compare the results. First link is page of sleep study and second link shows what Fitbit saw. Fitbit said I got a lot more sleep then I actually did. https://i.imgur.com/54ZxixN.jpg Fitbit ionic https://imgur...

Re: Devices/programs to help evaluate sleep status

I have the Fitbit ionic and use it to track my sleep. I think part of the equation is if it doesn't sense moving for a certain amount of time it assumes your sleeping. I was actually wearing mine during my sleep study. My sleep study said I was sleeping for 3.6 hours and my Fitbit said I slept for 5...

Re: Taking control of therapy

Ahhh...no titration study. That's okay... You may or may not be entirely comfortable at that starting pressure of 4 cm. While we won't suffocate at such a low pressure it sure can feel like it and make it difficult to get to sleep so be prepared to increase that 4 cm to something maybe around 6 cm ...

Taking control of therapy

So I should be getting a machine soon and I was told I needed to make an appointment with sleep place 30 days after for a download.

Would it be a bad idea to make changes before then if needed because I assume they will notice when looking at data?
Any have experience with this?

Re: Poll: What Mask type do you use?

The idea of the poll is to kinda of see what type works best for most people. Knowing that then the reviews of that type of mask might help with making a better decision. I agree though everyone is different so no poll or anything will guarantee a good choice.

Re: VA Clinics

The one thing that has always bothered me with the VA is typically how long it takes to ever really get anything done. It's made me very proactive so that way instead of hearing "we'll try this for a month and if things are better make an appointment to come back". Not to mention I rarely ever get c...
