Recalled CPAP- Philips Dreamstation

Hi all, Long story short, though sheer coincidence we found out about the product recalls. We managed to get a new CPAP but the ones my husband used on and off for years were affected and part of the recall. Does anyone know if all devises were affected and how would we know if it affected him? I am...

Dreamwear full face mask- Pros and Cons

Dear all, after all the issues we are having my dh is contemplating switching to the Dreamwear full face mask.
Is anyone using it and could give us the pro's and con's compared to the Amara Full face mask?

Also anything else we need to know? Any sounds/ leaks etc?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Still snoring after 2 years

That might be an idea as we haven't yet tried that. The doctor was very hesitant to put the minimum pressure above 8 and only after we insisted he did it for us till we found out we can adjust it at home. Is anyone here using such high pressures and how common is it? The sleep apnea was mild/ modera...

Re: Still snoring after 2 years

Thanks all! I will make sure to upload the data as soon as he has used the machine for a while again as he recently started using it again after a few weeks without it. The pressure is set on 14- 20 which I believe is the highest it can go on the auto CPAP. 14 (the pressure to stop the snoring) isn...

Re: Still snoring after 2 years

Thanks so much. It means a lot having this support. He is using the Amara full face mask as it was the only one that initially had no leaks and fit him. We had started off with a nose mask only but the snoring was much more so he then swapped to the full face mask. He is finding it very uncomfortabl...

Re: Still snoring after 2 years

Could a different mask help at all? He is using the Amara view full face mask right now. I don't understand why the collar helps and nothing else.
I will make sure to read the post. Thanks a lot for that!

Still snoring after 2 years

Hi all, It has been a while. I am back and I was hoping to get some advise on my husbands therapy which doesn't seem to work for him. It has been 2 years and he still hasn't got used to the CPAP. Whenever he sleeps with it, he can't sleep, he tosses and turns and keeps snoring. The tossing could be ...

Re: Reoccurring issues with the blower

Oh and one more thing I would like to add. My dh is so restless these days. It seems like he has a restless leg syndrome. Again it keeps us awake of course. Has anyone else experienced this in conjunction with using the CPAP? We are really trying to push through this time for him to finally get used...

Re: Reoccurring issues with the blower

Thanks for the useful replies. Yes, we will definitely try the Resmed in the future. We now invested so much into this machine hence it will have to wait till a new machine is due as our insurance doesn't cover the costs for sleep apnea. In our case it is 100% the devise we figured. They have replac...

Re: Reoccurring issues with the blower

Also, in case this helps anyone. We have changed the blower and the strange sound is gone. There seems so to be an issue with some of the makes, or maybe after a while the blower starts making more noise. I thought I would share if anyone has faced a similar issue. I am glad I am not going crazy ima...

Re: Reoccurring issues with the blower

That is great to know. We don't have carpets so will try that for sure. My dh is travelling again so I won't have the CD card but I will post the results as soon as I can. He had vibratory snores over the last two days which kept waking me up again. It wasn't horrible but loud enough to make the bed...

Re: Reoccurring issues with the blower

Thanks a lot and that is good to know. I usually cover the light. :D Our engineers told us under no circumstance to put the machine on the floor. I didn't think it would be a problem so will try it as well.
