Re: Resumed air fit p30 and dreamstation

My HMO and DME is Kaiser Permanente. They issued me a DreamStation and a P10 mask. FWIW they set the mask type as X1. If you are getting chest pains from too much pressure, you need to use SleepyHead or OSCAR to get detailed information on what your actual pressures are during use. It's possible tha...

Re: UARS Insomnia

You need to get a proper sleep test. I had the exact same initial symptoms as you: 1) snoring, many years 2) finding myself waking up from snoring just at the point I was drifting off to sleep I went to an ENT and she was at first skeptical that I had OSA. But she sent me off to the sleep clinic and...

Re: Nasal cushion for P10?

How new is your uncomfortable P10 mask? More specifically, how new is the headband? Do you have a big head? I find that a new headband quite forcefully pulls the pillows into my nostrils. By morning I definitely have discomfort and redness in my nostrils. There is about an inch of length difference ...

Re: William Shatner the new face of "NoClean" just saw another commercial... sigh.

William Shatner is worth $100 million dollars why would he want people to believe he is too old or too stupid to realize he needs to clean his CPAP machine after 10 years of using it? Bill has come a long way since, after Star Trek ended, the only work he could get was Promise Margarine commercials...

Re: Anyone have a CSM50 E or F Pulse Oximeter??

I wonder how accurate that wrist watch oximeter is? Have you compared the readings with the kind that slips onto a finger? The 1st generation Apple Watch had oximeter hardware. But it was never enabled. Apple never explained why. Maybe it was because of accuracy (perhaps if watch was loose, not snug...

Re: Routine endoscopic screening with known sleep apnea - accommodations?

I'm having a colonoscopy next month. I was told to bring my CPAP machine with me. The machine is only for use in recovery. As others here have mentioned, an anesthesiologist (should) keep a careful eye on you during the procedure itself. It's probably the same for an endoscopic screening. They proba...

Re: Dreamstation Humidifier Cleaning?

Ridiculous....Why would water sit in a humidifier for weeks. Most people would run the tub dry in 2-3 days at the most. Sigh. There's an important concept for wise living. Some call it "Chesterton's Fence". Here is a wiki about it for your edification: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G._K._Chesterton...

Re: Dreamstation Humidifier Cleaning?

the humidifier chamber has me a bit on edge. I only use distilled water in my humidifier. I dump the remaining water out every morning. What would have me "on edge" would be to know that water has been sitting in there for weeks. My DME tech explained it to me this way about using fresh water there...

Re: Labored breathing with P10

BTW here is my first day/night with the F20. ... Sadly the sleep was not nearly as satisfying as the nap. Woke up feeling tired and foggy. Any input is appreciated as always. At this point I think your problems transcend the P10. But, because of the current subject line, you might not get the atten...

Re: Labored breathing with P10

I have included a screenshot to help answer the tech questions. I notice there are quite a few CAs in the screenshots you have been giving us. Maybe this has something to do with your problem? CAs mean your body isn't taking the breaths it should. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can weigh in on th...

Re: Problems with airflow for Resmed P10

The bottom line is that if my wife turns on the bedroom humidifier, I can have problems breathing if using the mask. The issue is not that the vents are dirty. I will note that occasionally, our fire alarm goes off (it can be triggered by high humidity) but that is how humid my wife likes the room ...

I don't see a need for a new thread. ... I've had very few nights my AHI is under 2 digits.
IMO you do need a new thread. AHI should be solidly under 5 for CPAP to be considered successful.

Start a new thread to get advice on lowering your AHI.

You definitely don't want to use petroleum jelly in a situation where you could be breathing it in. Here's what could happen if any vaporizes and winds up in your lungs: https://www.mayoclinic.org/petroleum-je ... q-20057784
