Re: Forced by job to get testing and CPAP I don't need..

Where do you draw the line. Do you test everyone behind the wheel of a vehicle and so on? So, do we test every person before they are issued a driver's licence and then every time they renew? And then, do we wirelessly monitor compliance and revoke their licences until they become "compliant" How d...

Re: American Homepatient now Lincare?! Yuk.

No experience with Roberts Medical, but Lincare is the pits. I had been dealing with them since last May when I got re-diagnosed with SA. I took me almost 2 months to get my cpap from them to begin with after approval by the insurance company. Then they kept hounding me each month to order the max a...

Re: Smallest Full Face Mask?

My doctor mentioned the Amara View mask to me today. From what I understand about how it fits, it might be just the thing for you. All you can do is ask if it might be available for you.

Re: Rough night

No issue about the flap, I figured that was what you meant on the first reading. I have found that the ramp time is a good thing. I have mine at 30 minutes, I also have the smartstart on. The lower pressure with the ramp time where I have it allows me to basically get entirely asleep before the pres...

Re: Update situation

Additional update - 3/23/2018 I saw my sleep doctor today. I did not know this but apparently when I did the 2nd Titration test in January I had an AHI of 17 while on the CPAP machine. (It may have been what the doctor saw on my download that triggered the new Titration test). With the new Aircurve ...

Re: BEEP

I do not know this for certain but if the machine just started beeping for no apparent reason, maybe it has an internal battery for its memory that is finally dieing. Like I said , I do not know, just a possibility.

Re: Need help with type of machine, mask, etc. as I have been just diagnosed

The others are correct in what they have said in my opinion. You also will want a unit with the built in humidifier. If you think about what a CPAP machine does is provide a continuous supply of pressurized air (the entire time you use it) to keep your soft palate open for easier breathing, which ca...

Re: Aircurve 10 st smartstart

.....The "alert" part of the leak alert is a very low barely audible beeping. Pretty useless IMHO anyway. Easily missed with the noise of a hose coming off and the hurricane that goes along with the hose coming off. Yes.. I like to have some music going when I sleep, Real Smooth Jazz or Light class...

Re: Aircurve 10 st smartstart

A follow up question also if you don't mind Pugsy,,,,,, Last night I managed to disconnect the supply hose from my mask. The machine just kept on pumping like there was not a problem. I do not recall it even beeping a leak alert. It did not shut itself off either. The first thing I remember is the l...

Re: Aircurve 10 st smartstart

Thanks pugsy, that did the trick.
My question now is why can't you have both, SmartStart and Leak Alert.
I don't understand why they should be one or the other, exclusive.
Maybe just wishful thinking by an ignorant end user!
Hope you catch the sarcasm in the last statement.

Aircurve 10 st smartstart

About 3 weeks ago I got my new Aircurve 10 ST VPAP machine. Every night I have to physically turn the machine on. My previous machine (Airsense 10 ) had an auto start function that was nice. Just put the mask on and it started right up. I went through the on screen settings and founf the smartstart ...

Chicagogranny,
I had not heard of Sleepyhead software until after I joined this forum. ( It was recommended to me by a member of another forum that I am also a member.)

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 dying (questions)

If at all possible I would avoid LINCARE and any of their Subsidiaries. I have been dealing with them for the last 9 months or so and have only had 1 good experience with them. And that was with a delivery driver. I do not know how many DME suppliers LINCARE has bought up, but it seems like they are...

Re: Is Skipping Treatment Ever Good?

My 2 cents. I am a 55yo male who has always been a 5-6 hours sleeper, even when I was 10 yo. And even when I was a drinker and got drunk I would rarely sleep more than 7 hours. Some people just do not need that much sleep to be well rested for the next day. That being said, I have other conditions t...

Re: Update situation

Pugsy,,,, I changed the equipment before doing the update. Unfortunately I only could find the 'AIRCURVE 10 S' model not the ST model in the list of equipment. If I somehow overlooked it then, 'MYBAD'. I also tried to edit that line specifically without luck. Is it possible there is a typo in the li...
