Re: Is this pressure too high? Need help with Min/Max
Having your machine spend most of the night, at or close to its maximum (20cm), will not burn out the motor. Some thoughts: "Ramping", up to 20cm isn't bad, but it shows a lot more pressure may be required to control your OSA, than most. ps: don't use the term "Ramping". Although that's perfectly fi...

Re: Leaks and machine capability/reliability
Similar situation. showed Oscar to doc, and he noted that 75% of my events occurred during big leak periods. I would go to sleep for 2 hours and only have 2 events while I was at minimal leak. During the next 3 hours with leaks between 35-65, I would have 40 events. Then during the final 3 hours at...

Re: Donating my old machine
Generous offer, the AS10 for Her is a great machine.
But, consider keeping it as a spare, if you don't have one.
And you should post age and run hours. Donating an 8 year old device with 20,000 hours may not be doing anyone any favours.

Re: Mouth breathing?
Try mouth tping and see if the leaks and events go away. I posted this in another topic but it is equally applicable here. When I first started CPAP and then adjusted to it, I used a nasal mask and never had any mouth-breathing or leak problems. Then about a year and a half ago, my leaks started cre...

Re: dry mouth on the one hand, rain out on the other.
Radical suggestion here buddy. I know how much you love your beard, but chop the damn thing off and tape properly. When I first started CPAP and then adjusted to it, I used a nasal mask and never had any mouth-breathing or leak problems. Then about a year and a half ago, my leaks started creeping up...

Re: Determining the Minimum APAP Pressure
Instead of asking how to interpret the OSCAR data and then make adjustments. Post the OSCAR data and ask for suggested changes from experienced members. This way you'll get reliable advice and can learn the rational of any suggested changes. If you don't know how to read a chart to make adjustments,...

Re: Question about possible mold / bacterial contamination
The "Minerals Added" language was pretty prominent on the label.Maybe this should be added to the Distilled Water "sticky".
Because people who don't read labels are likely to read "stickies".

Re: Leaks and machine capability/reliability
Meeting soon with my "new" sleep doc (prior retired) Should I suggest to him that the events observed during the >35 leak episode just be ignored? It would substantially change my AHI values as in general the majority of my events are detected during these leak periods. I wonder how successful I'll...

Re: SELLING if interested.
Before buying items from other forum members, it's always a good idea to research the seller by going through their past posts. Look for: How long they've been forum members How reasonable they are Have they been helping others Do they get along with others Do they handle conflict well The OP had be...

Excuse me, you didn't say read reviews and see if the product works for you? You for sure need to take your pills, let me paste what you said verbatim "You read the reviews, and then based on experiences and ratings of others, you decide if you want to take a risk to see if the product works for yo...

Re: Just Venting/Questions
Read reviews and see if the product works for you? Are you serious? I didn't say "Read reviews and see if the product works for you". Reputable have an obligation to return defective products. They don't have an obligation to return products that simply don't work for you. You should also read Amaz...

Re: Just Venting/Questions
You read the reviews, and then based on experiences and ratings of others, you decide if you want to take a risk to see if the product works for you. Considering the the cost of shipping would be well over the $3.00 restocking fee (if unopened), and a huge loss (cost of product and shipping) if it d...

Re: Oscar login
I moved away from my Mac about a year ago. But, OSCAR doesn't need to be continously reinstalled. It sounds like he, copied the OSCAR Installer into the Applications folder, and not OSCAR. Here's a good link to properly install on a Mac: https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php/OSCAR_Installation:_...
