Re: Traveling with CPAP

Anyone have any advice about traveling with your cpap machine? Or getting it through the TSA lines? I am taking my first trip with mine, and am worried they won't let me take it on the plane. don't worry, sir or madam. a cpap is a medical device and they can't disallow you to have it with you. do N...

Re: My cat turned my CPAP off

My cat is always trying to lay on the hose, so I'm trying to train her to sleep on the other side of me. So far she's been fighting me on this. lol

Re: Howdy! Recently diagnosed, now being treated.

Pugsy, thank you for speaking with me. I appreciate what you're trying to say to me. As of right now, I have some double sided mouth guards coming my way from this martial arts website I found. Ha! My jaw does fall back a lot, and I am not sure the chinstrap is really helping. I also have a new truc...

Re: Howdy! Recently diagnosed, now being treated.

If I change it to auto from fixed (or what have you), will it also help with the leaks? I'm guessing I'll have to either talk to my Sleep Doctor about this or dig in to adjusting cpap machine myself, yeah?

Re: Howdy! Recently diagnosed, now being treated.

I'm glad you brought up the red mark from the Resmed Airfit F20. I also have the Airfit F20 and I have the red mark on my nose. Right now, I just cover it with makeup. I think it may be from rubbing and movement of the mask at night because my mask is super comfortable for me and I don't feel much ...

Re: Howdy! Recently diagnosed, now being treated.

Hi! Sorry it took me so long to get back to this, I've been trying to learn me on my own til I could get access to a PC or MAC... and, I finally got a friend with a MAC to come over. It's now been 28 days (ish?) since I started treatment. I still stand by that on most days I've seen a bit more energ...

Re: Howdy! Recently diagnosed, now being treated.

When I was having problems with the mask causing irritation of my nose, I used a piece of moleskin on my nose every night. You can find moleskin in the foot health department of CVS, Walmart, etc. If you decide to continue using it, you can find it on the internet in large rolls. I would unroll abo...

Re: Howdy! Recently diagnosed, now being treated.

And last night was 13. :( Ahhh...no wonder you don't feel so great. AHI way too high. Get SleepyHead software and let's see what's going on with that AHI...what kind of events and when they are happening and what the pressure is doing and what the leaks might be doing. I have some bad news, I don't...

Re: Howdy! Recently diagnosed, now being treated.

Your pressures are relatively high for the time being (?), and with facial hair the mask you are using may need a fair whack of pressure against your tissues to keep the readings next morning showing substantial air leaks. Just a thought, not suggesting that it IS the case.... I have about one not-...

Re: Howdy! Recently diagnosed, now being treated.

Welcome to the forum. How many hours of sleep did you get last night? Did you find that you happened to wake often last night? I am getting 7-8 hours of sleep a night. MyAir says I got 8:08 hours of sleep, and I do remember waking up 3 times, twice to pee. My usual has been to be aware of waking ab...

Howdy! Recently diagnosed, now being treated.

My name is Griff! For as long as I can remember I've been snoring, feeling exhausted and fatigued, most of my adult life. I've been described as spastic, absentminded and forgetful. But then I got on the ACA bandwagon last year, and this year I decided to go see my PCP, who said I most likely have s...
