Depends on where you live. Our tap water is very soft without bad odor or taste. I have used in a cpap for 7 years with no buildup. If I had mineral buildup or odor I would used distilled water.
Always use your cpap, naps without are a no no.

Re: So...can't wait till Friday
I do not find it strange. I have been using this forum and the apnea board forum to discover how ineffective my treatment has been. When I review sleepyhead now for the 7 years on my first machine it is amazing how well I felt and how poorly I was being treated. But now age ( or something) is catchi...

Re: So...can't wait till Friday
Is the machine Jas_williams purchased for $150 an AVS machine? The reason I ask is -- I continue to have CA events and it is my understanding that an avs machine can treat them.

I am not sure this is germaine to the topic. I had 3 overnight sleep studies and they were never able to titrate me -- for whatever that is worth.

Re: AHI jumping to scary levels with new machine.
Did you also change mask? I notice that your 90% leak rate has increased to 72. This leak rate could be causing the CPAP to misdiagnose the AHI's because of the pressure leaks.

Re: Maintaining CPAP gear?
1) I used my first Phillips CPAP for 7 years before it malfunctioned, so I was able to replace it with insurance. It did not fail completely so it will be my backup. You can find backup machines for $200-400.

Re: AirTouch F20 mask swells. Is this normal?
I wear the F20 with the silicon pads and do not have the swelling. I don't use ramp so I start out at full pressure. If you use the ramp the swelling you are describing maybe the silicon pads fully inflating. My pressure is 16/13 for reference.

Re: Importance of low AHI...
I think some of it has to do with the concentration of AHI's. If mine are scattered throughout the night I am OK. Some nights my AHI's will be 16-25 for the last couple of hours and I do not feel good.

Re: Understanding Unusual Waveforms
I would tend to go with a smaller adjustment. Your median EPAP was 7.90 and you Max IPAP was 11.00, I would try 12/8. I am thinking you had an arousal before each of the Hypopnea events. Since the Hypopnea were so closely spaced maybe turn off the EPR.
