Re: Shortness Of Breath

I have considered anxiety as a possibility. Not sure what to do about that if that’s the case, though. I agree with what others have said here about the importance of a good mask for your face shape, etc. And a hose buddy was a game changer for me to get that hose up off my neck, etc. Sent from my i...

Shortness Of Breath

I developed shortness of breath - a mild case - shortly after I began CPAP therapy a little over two years ago. It hasn’t gotten worse, but it hasn’t improved, so last week at my annual physical, I told the doctor about my symptoms. So far he’s run blood, chest X-ray, and done a stress test and EKG ...

Something I Hate

If I simply disconnect the elbow from the front of my mast, the auto off works fine. With nasal pillows, the amount of air flow may not be enough to trigger the auto off function. When I first got my Airsense 10 I had a nasal mask and it shut off automatically within a few seconds of removing my ma...

Re: My experience with Kaiser Permanente

My comments about being excited to get Medicare dealt with the COST of it itself. My current monthly premium for health insurance is more like a house mortgage. And the deductible is outrageously high.

Re: My experience with Kaiser Permanente

Do you still have Kaiser through the ACA plan? Yes, with outrageous and unaffordable deductible and no DME coverage except maybe for crutches if I break my leg. But routine care is OK. Every plan, ACA or not, if you’re not with an employer group, is outrageously expensive. I have never looke...

Re: My experience with Kaiser Permanente

I use the Kaiser in Santa Rosa. You can schedule an appointment at any Northern California Kaiser sleep clinic, so "shop around" if you're not happy with your local Kaiser. I celebrated the day I went on an ACA plan and lost my Kaiser DME coverage. No more Crapria. Do you still have Kaiser th...

Re: Question about Nasal Pillows

I use the P10 and love it. To deal with the hose, I use a hose buddy which holds the hose up and swings when I move without bothering me or getting tangled.

I’ve been using mine without washing it since May. [emoji50][emoji50]. It just never looks dirty.

Re: My experience with Kaiser Permanente

I live in s suburb of Sacramento and there’s about 5 different campuses of Kaiser in the Greater Sac area, but only one of them has a sleep center so that’s the one I have to visit. Sadly it’s not the one closest to where I live but it’s only a 20 minute drive away. We don’t have the same traffic is...

Re: My experience with Kaiser Permanente

Surprised to hear a borderline good story about Kaiser. All I have noticed first hand are a bunch of incompetent doctors and lab technicians as far as general care is concerned. I’ve had absolutely outstanding care from my Kaiser. In every aspect. Labs, RX, primary care, vaccinations, surgery and e...

Re: My experience with Kaiser Permanente

I experienced pretty much the same as you with my Kaiser facility here in the Sacramento, California region. It is indeed a PITA to try to get to the sleep lab to discuss results or ask questions when dealing with other areas in Kaiser are so nice and streamlined. Once you connect with the sleep cen...

Re: Frustrated Non-Apnea CPAP User

I find it absolutely fascinating that insomnia can be cured for you by using a CPAP machine. Our bodies need sleep and whatever works to get us that sleep, especially something safe and proven is and should be, a slam dunk. I also find it infuriating that no doctor will give you a prescription for o...

Traveling with CPAP

I’ve traveled several times since I began CPAP therapy earlier this year and had no problem with TSA or the airlines. Waved through. I flew home from Montreal and also had no trouble with Canadian security. I’m traveling to Europe next week and hope to also just sail through. I’ll be traveling throu...

Re: Hose Buddy vs. the other blue one

Slightly off topic, but if you buy a second CPAP machine do you need a new prescription from your doctor?

Re: Hose Buddy vs. the other blue one

I have the amazon one and it’s great. It’s easy to fold up and in its bag it fits inside my CPAP bag too.

But now I’m thinking of buying a second one so then I never have to take the first one off my bed, etc.

Re: Travel machines

I don’t use the humidifier on my Resmed Airsense 10. So a travel mini without that would not impact me in any way.
