Re: Can't seem to get rid of Open Airway Events

As always Pugsy is on point, to add my $0.02 it seems my clear airway events are where I go inside the mask and scratch my nose or move it out of the way to cough. Just this morning sleepyhead showed 3 clear airway events in the 5 min before I took the mask off, I was trying to keep sleeping for abo...

Re: Newbie - Learning after first day

After a bit more than a week I slept last night with the oximiter to see the results, in the end it's about the same as before I used my CPAP.

I do find that after I wake up to go to the bathroom it seems that when I lay down the oxygen drops.

Am I getting any benefit from the CPAP?

Re: Newbie - Learning after first day

Thank you Pugsy! I will fix the graphs and keep trying with the masks to find the one.

Re: Newbie - Learning after first day

So I had a much better night with the Quattro FX, still woke up 10-20 times but the mask wasn't a problem, I managed to up the humidifier to 7 around 3am and the tube temp to 24 (for some reason its in Celsius) and I only had rain out at the mask when I took it off this morning. I am going to sell t...

Re: Newbie - Learning after first day

Thanks everybody, I will take the win on the AHI and leave it at that.

Pugsy, thanks for the link to the long answer, I already ordered a hose cover and will take the long road to find what works.

I do feel less tired after a few days, hopefully the extra energy sticks around.

Re: Newbie - Learning after first day

So I wanted to get a few nights of data and mask fitting before posting, here are my last 2 nights on sleepyhead. 30-APR was done with a full face Amara View, it was quite uncomfortable 1-May was done with a N10 and taped mouth until around 3 am where I couldn't stand it and took it off, woke up man...

Re: Anyone dealing with high CO2 levels during the day?

I have had this show up on blood work too; while I am no doctor I believe mine is caused by something congenital where one side of my diaphragm doesn't move. For me it's likely been there all my life and my body has learned to compensate for it. To put you're mind at ease I had a level of 31 about 6...

Re: Newbie - Starting out after First Night

Hi all, It took me a couple of weeks to get the equipment after my results; the short version is I have an AHI of 9.5 and I spend 24% of the time below 89% oxygen with a low of 84%. I did follow up with a CMS50F Plus and it also showed about 4-5 desaturations to 84%. All are partial obstructions. I ...

Re: Newbie - Doctor called me for results, quite scared.

Thanks for the replies, I started another thread earlier after I got out of the doctors office. I had 8.67 AHI and the reason I don't snore is that it's partial; I am very relieved it wasn't central or anything bad. I am waiting for my insurance to send me the machine and am very hopeful.

Re: Results of First Sleep Study

So I just got back from the doctors and the short version is: 52 Events in 6 Hours, all Obstructive Hyponeas 8.67 AHI, for anyone else challenged at head math on short notice ;) I do understand this is mild, he did mention my events are partial obstructions and does recommend I use the S10 Auto wit...

Re: Lost a lot of weight and sleeping terribly

I could add that after eating a large meal I sleep very well, the less I eat the harder it is.

Might be worth it to do a follow-up study to see if you still need the machine.

Re: Newbie - Doctor called me for results, quite scared.

I know not worrying is easier said than done, but I've wasted so much time worrying about test results that never turned out to be as ominous as in my imaginations. There is nothing they are going to tell you that you can't work through. If they say you've got sleep apnea, that's treatable whether ...

Newbie - Oximetry is the same with CPAP?

Hi all, I am a complete newbie and have done the sleep study at the doctors office, after 1 week they called me in to get results tomorrow and as any doctor that calls me in I am scared out of my mind. My mom and brother both have OSA and snore everybody out of the house; the only details I know are...
