For real. I was about to turn that thing into a damned doorstop.

Re: New user trying to troubleshoot machine
Going to ask a couple of questions - do you sleep mostly on your back? When you sleep, does your head fall forward, possibly cutting off your airway to a large extent? Do you snore at all? Depending on your answers, I have some comments and things for you to think about re using cpap at all. Hard t...

Re: New user trying to troubleshoot machine
Sorry about that. I have played around with it a bunch (perhaps too much in my impatience.) I think I started at 5-11, but have since moved it. Last night I was on 6-20. Current machine settings are AUTO, optistart off, ezstart on, min 6 max 20.

New user trying to troubleshoot machine
Received a HST a couple months ago and finally got a machine in the last week. HST showed mild apnea with AHI at 6.. I ended going outside of insurance, because they were being particularly difficult to deal with and did not receive any titration and my doc is generally useless. Script calls for APA...

Re: Recently diagnosed. Trying to navigate insurance/apria/carecentrix and determine best options
Sucks to hear what you are going through...I have Cigna which uses Carecentrix for medical equipment. I was told that my machine is covered 100% on my plan...we'll see here shortly. Probably has a lot to do with my plan... Either way I picked up a dreamstation for a great price locally so I'm just ...

Re: Recently diagnosed. Trying to navigate insurance/apria/carecentrix and determine best options
I've called multiple times now and received at least 6 different answers on what it will cost. Not screwing with these people, they seem incredibly dishonest and opaque.

Re: Recently diagnosed. Trying to navigate insurance/apria/carecentrix and determine best options
My crap list: UHC, BCBS, any HMO, Apria, and others I'd rather not recall. I share when I can, hoping my mistakes can help others. Cross me once . . . UHC also on my crap list from a while back. BCBS is who I am with now and unfortunately pretty much the main game in town and I avoid HMOs whenever ...

Re: Recently diagnosed. Trying to navigate insurance/apria/carecentrix and determine best options
Top of the line machine can be purchased without insurance or DME for under $600...See if cpap.com will match the price https://www.noinsurancemedicalsupplies.com/airsensetm-10-autoset-w-humidair/ Thanks for that. I'm going to try to see if I can get anywhere with these fools and if not just buy it...

Re: Recently diagnosed. Trying to navigate insurance/apria/carecentrix and determine best options
If you have some money and don't want to play the game... Purchase your machine from a trusted source and use it knowing that compliance requirements don't apply to you. Your interest is in productive therapy and improvements in overall health. I think this is what I will end up doing. I'm gonna tr...

Re: Recently diagnosed. Trying to navigate insurance/apria/carecentrix and determine best options
Some insurance is just not worth getting. Try not to make the same mistake NEXT time. This is something I thought about when I initially signed up for it. I got it, because it was one of the few plans that offered an HSA, which I have used in the past, albeit one with a better plan, and liked for t...

Recently diagnosed. Trying to navigate insurance/apria/carecentrix and determine best options
I recently had a HST done, which said that I had sleep apnea. Doc said his office would give me a call to discuss treatment. A couple days ago, I got a call from Apria saying that my CPAP is ready. Apria wanted to send the device right away, but I told them I would need to know what my out of pocket...
