Re: Low Spo2 levels not improved by CPAP advice please
Quick Update Spoke to Resmed, they suggested I might get on better with the new F30 mask but said see what the doctor says about being retested first since after looking at my results and comments they also feel I am a prime candidate for retesting. So thanks for all your suggestions especially Ric...

Re: Low Spo2 levels not improved by CPAP advice please
I don't know if I have done this right as its my first attempt at posting an image but if I did it should show last nights Sleepyhead data 290119.JPG so you can see what I meant about the leaks. Finally a bit of irony I was referred for the sleep test not becuase of being sleepy but because while I ...

Re: Low Spo2 levels not improved by CPAP advice please
Hi Rick Read the taming the mirage quattro blog, very interesting that isn’t the way they told me to fit the mask at the sleep centre. I was told to do it sitting up. Anyway I tried it last night, carefully followed the instructions and I have to say the mask felt a lot better on my face and everyth...

Re: Low Spo2 levels not improved by CPAP advice please
Oh Bwexler I wish, but the NHS in the UK and the system you have in the states are very different, The doctors are the ones in control over here not the patients, Unless you are fairly wealthy and can afford to go private (which most of us can’t ) you do not hire and fire a specialist instead you ge...

Re: Low Spo2 levels not improved by CPAP advice please
Hi again Rick I don’t know if this helps but here are a few stats from my sleepyhead and Spo2 assist readings. Since starting CPAP at the end of September I have used the Resmed on 82 nights during which time my average API recorded by the Resmed is 0.49. The highest it reached was 2.37 Looking at t...

Re: Low Spo2 levels not improved by CPAP advice please
Hi Rick, thank you for such a comprehensive reply; sounds like you had a much better experience at your sleep centre. I am sorry it's taken a while to get back to you I have had a particularly nasty bout of flu, so I haven't been near the computer for a while. That makes the third time this winter d...

Re: Low Spo2 levels not improved by CPAP advice please
Hi again, thanks for the replies, I will try to answer the points raised by various people in order so bare with me. First weight, months before the sleep study my weight was 167 pounds which is almost 76kgs for someone 5ft1 that was far to much so we tried a few things and in the end found cycling ...

Re: Low Spo2 levels not improved by CPAP advice please
Hi perhaps I should have clarified. I am in the UK, female, aged 68, Bmi 27.8, and cycle 30-100 miles every week, I only drink hot water, very weak coffee and occasionally milk, the only thing that has changed since the original diagnosis is I have been told I am no longer pre-diabetic, my sugar lev...

Low Spo2 levels not improved by CPAP advice please
I have been on a Resmed CPAP machine since August, not because a sleep study showed Apnea’s, it didn’t however it did apparently show my SPO2 levels were erratic and dropped to 88 frequently during the study night, or at least that is what I was told. Before using the machine I got at least 8 hours ...

Re: COPD, a common cold and my CPAP
Hi Patti, like you I can’t use my CPAP when I have coughing fits. I am a couple of months off of reaching 68 and after waking my husband by snoring at around 5am every morning I had been tested for apnea and was recently diagnosed with having too many low Spo2 events and put on an airsense 10 machin...

CMS50F and Sleepy Head advice please
Hi all I have a question about using the Contec CMS50F with Sleepyhead. My hospital report said I was diagnosed with an API of 26.4 and an oxygen desaturation of 36.4 but Sleepy head isnt showing anything like that in either case. I started using the machine on Sept 25 2018 and according to Sleepyhe...

Re: Really struggling with CPAP, feel much worse than before getting machine
Hi and Thanks for the welcome, I have amended my profile but since this is all tied to the national health I will only get what they are prepared to give me so switching equipment etc is at the mercy of them. To be honest if it wasnt for the fact that they stop you driving in the UK if you do not co...
