Re: Could someone look at my Sleepyhead results and talk about UARS?

Hi, I was wondering if someone could look at my Sleepyhead results? Hi Cheryl - welcome to cpaptalk. Pugsy and Kteague have been some of the most helpful for me, based on their responses to my current questions, but also if you click on their usernames you can see their knowledgeable responses to o...

Re: UARS newbie

Very interesting @dogsarelife! Not sure if she's aware of it (I'd guess yes), but I'll keep it in mind. So, if I may probe a bit, what am I looking for in terms of "feeling better"? How did you know the the apap setup you had wasn't working, and how has the (much higher) pressure you're now under t...

Re: UARS newbie

Hi - welcome. As a fellow UARS sufferer, does your sleep specialist know anything about pressure esophageal manometry? if you can find a lab that does it,it will help. The esophageal manometry, it's a thin length of water filled tube that goes through your nose and then down your throat with sensors...

Re: Arms/hands go numb, SpO2 drops, heart races

I had an event this morning, woke up on my back, with arms and face slightly numb/warm . My SpO2 watch showed 86% and heart rate 100bpm +. When I woke, it returned to normal quickly. These events have been reoccurring more often, when laying on my back. I have gained about 30lbs over this year and ...

Re: Heart Rate fluctuations and spikes during sleep

Wow! Good for her! Yes, I'm so heartened by her efforts and the other medical professionals who feel remorse and guilt at telling patients their sleep issues were down to anxiety. Side note: I can think of about 13 doctors who owe me an apology for missing my sleep apnea. I hope this foundation spe...

Re: Heart Rate fluctuations and spikes during sleep

That has been my experience with local doctors here in Austin,TX area. For years I was getting strange "panic attack" symptoms that lasted only a few seconds. Feelings of doom, like I was going to die. Some doctors said it wasn't panic, since it didnt last long enough. Then I developed issues in my...

Re: can you change the leak threshold time that tells your machine to shut off?

Don't unplug it immediately after using it. The device has a cool down mode where it gently blows air through the system to blowoff water in the hose. You also may want to wait until data is uploaded if you use MyAir. thanks ds. That's why I wrote I might try leaving the thing plugged in for the fi...

Re: Heart Rate fluctuations and spikes during sleep

Disclaimer/Edited to add - I clicked on your posts and it seems like you're older to cpaptalk than me, so possibly none of what I have to say is helpful. Is your O2 still dropping without any events? Did you ever get that figured out? Original response - your sleep charts don't provide flow rate so ...

Re: can you change the leak threshold time that tells your machine to shut off?

You *can*... but I don't bother to do it with mine. when the CPAP is in standby, it's pulling very little power, so the adapter is basically loafing, and should be cooler than when you first turn off the CPAP... check it before you go to sleep tonight. PR thanks for all the explanations. Adapter ho...

Re: can you change the leak threshold time that tells your machine to shut off?

It's *possible* that the PS may have an intermittent fault, or it may have failing capacitors that lower it's power capacity, so when the unit wants too much juice, the PS just momentarily throws up it's little hands and says "I QUIT!" Easy enough to check, just swap it out. ah ok, I see what you'r...

Re: Recently diagnosed with sleep apnea

Curious if you have an update? I have the same exact neuromuscular symtoms as yourself. I'm 31, and went through so many tests. Even the best doctors in Manhattan. I was diagnosed with Enhanced Physiological Tremor, as some call BFS. I had moments where I'd jump out of bed or gasp for air... then, ...

Re: can you change the leak threshold time that tells your machine to shut off?

What battery? Yeah, I was scratching my head on that one too. Probably is talking about the power brick. They can go bad but I thought that when they did it was a permanent funeral and no coming back to life. But then what I understand about power stuff would fit on my little fingernail. To t...

Re: can you change the leak threshold time that tells your machine to shut off?

update: I decided to use my backup machine, an Autoset 10 for a night to make I could get a good night of sleep, with the setting changed to full face mask so leaks wouldn't shut me down. and the machine shut off again! Curious. that told me it wasn't necessarily an aircurve 10 issue then. I went ba...

Re: can you change the leak threshold time that tells your machine to shut off?

My aircurve 10S has been shutting off due to leaks. You change the shut off threshold by setting the mask type, full face is less sensitive and pillows is more sensitive. Later down, you say that your machine has SmartStart turned off. In that case, your machine is *NOT* shutting off due to leaks, ...

Re: can you change the leak threshold that tells your machine to shut off?

You cannot change anything within the machine software in terms of large leak threshold limits. The best you can do is as LSAT said...turn off SmartSense so the machine won't make the mistake of thinking you aren't attached when a big leak is happening BUT.....it takes a really, really big leak for...
