Re: Humidifiers and dry mouth question
When I started with my Respironics, with humidifier, heated tube, and full face mask I was getting a very dry mouth and also drooling inside the mask. I bought an inexpensive chin strap from Amazon to help in keeping my mouth closed and also started using the Biotene mouth rinse just before going to...

Re: how to clean water chamber
Dreamstation owner here. Using distilled water and about every two weeks the the water tray goes in the dishwasher with the rest of the dishware. The wife places it open side down on the top rack with normal hot water setting. She uses 'Finish' dishwasher gel-pacs if it makes a difference. We have w...

Re: Annual Sleep Doc Visit?
You know what's funny....I do see my PCP for my arthritis stuff and BP stuff regularly and the little print out they give you showing your list of problems or diagnoses and treatments........no where does it mention sleep apnea. Never has and I am in the same overall medical group. It should be on ...

Re: Annual Sleep Doc Visit?
I also never saw a 'sleep doctor'. I had some data from an oximeter ring I was wearing at night that indicated significant drops in O2 during the course of the night that I presented to my primary care doctor. I asked him about a sleep study and he set one up. During the two sleep studies I had I on...

Dreamstation Humidifier Water Usage?
I started with the Dreamstation back in March 2020. The humidifier setting was and is still set to '5' which is maximum. When I started out in March a tray of water filled to the max level line would be pretty much gone by the morning, occasionally dry. Now in in August there is about 1/4" to 3/8" o...

Re: Best way to maintain Full Face Mask Cushion? Cleaning Routine
Wipe down the cushion and mask daily with 'CPAP' wipes from Amazon (when I got the CPAP, baby wipes were pretty much non-existent due to Covid). About once a week I wash the cushion, mask, and headgear in a largish plastic container assorted nuts came in. The container is half filled with warm water...

Re: Double Question: Mask and Pulse Ox
Regarding a Pulse Oximeter, back in December 2019 I bought a night time wearable ring that monitors and records O2 levels and pulse rate. I bought this to confirm what I thought were apnea related sleep issues. I brought some of the readings to my doctor and he set me up with a sleep study which did...

Re: Extreme dry mouth
Your dry mouth may or may not be the problem I had. I was having a really dry mouth during the night and upon waking in the morning. I have a full face mask and was also having issues with 'drool' inside the mask during the night. My AHI numbers were OK, but not great. I had been using Biotene mout...

Re: Cpap and teeth infection
I'm still pretty much a noob with the CPAP. What helped me a bit from getting dry mouth during the night is a saline rinse of the nose to aid in clearing out nasal congestion and just before going to bed a mouth rinse/gargle of Biotene mouthwash (Xylitol).

Re: Frequent Night time urination.....UPDATE!!!
Newbie here and first post that I thought I would respond to......... I'm a 72 year old male and in Nov 2019 I went to a urologist to see about an issue of getting up about 5-6 times in the night to relieve myself. My own primary care doc had already diagnosed me with a slightly enlarged prostate wh...
