Re: Bad smelling air when first put mask on

This has happened a few times with my Dream Station 2. I usually wash the humidifier tank with Dawn dish liquid and warm water followed by a cold water rinse and open air dry.. For the hose I put a couple drops of Dawn in it, loop it so I can fill it with warm water, and then work the ends of the ho...

Apart from the CPAP machine which can be replaced when it is damaged from an ozone cleaner, consider your own health.....

Re: Debris in the Water Tank

While the foam that is used in the Resmed machine is likely formulated to withstand a normal ambient environment for a long time, a daily exposure to concentrated ozone may have the effect of breaking it down and causing pieces of it to flake off, which may possibly be what you are seeing.

Re: Review of the DreamStation 2 machine

The only niggles I have about the DS2 as compared to the DS1....... - For the way the DS2 sits on my nightstand the hose is at the wrong end (front) of the machine (relative to the orientation of the display screen) for the way I use it with an overhead hook at the head of the bed, so I turned it ar...

From Resmeds website...... https://www.resmed.com/en-us/sleep-apnea/cpap-parts-support/cleaning-cpap-equipment/ It's really all that's needed. I use warm water and Dawn dish liquid which works fine. Humidifier tub cleaning tips Daily cleaning tips: 1 - Unplug your CPAP machine from the power source....

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

"DreamMapper may not let you go back to the previous CPAP once it connects to the new one. " Yes, that's what I meant. I suppose I'll have to roll up my sleeves and try to contact Philips customer support to find out if the switch to the new machine is permanent. **Shudder! ** I've not had much suc...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Keith..... the DS2 (Dream Station 2) is a new model with a black casing versus the original Dream Station which was white.. Yes, the humidifier is included with the Dream Station 2. Both the Dream Stations use a cellular phone type connection to transfer data to the Philips servers and each is also...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

khjalmarj........ When I powered on the replacement DS2 the old DS1 settings were uploaded to it. Powering on the DS2 also changed the primary device in DreamMapper to the new DS2. The old DS1 was still fully functional, but no longer logged data to DreamMapper. The DS1 'history' simply appended/co...

Re: Dream Station 2 - flimsy clips on the tank and tank lid

I've had the DS2 about two years now. Have not had broken tabs on the tank lid, however I did buy a spare in the event it ever should happen. About $19 with free shipping on Amazon. Cheap insurance to have a spare as the machine is dead in the 'water' if the tank lid breaks. Interestingly Medicare/i...

Re: Think I broke my Resmed Airsense 11

Silica gel is better; and those little packets come with evrrything. Not expensive to buy either. I use these to dry studio microphones that have absorbed moisture from the air. Reusable as well. Rice works, but not as well. Rice is good to put in salt shakers to keep the salt dry. https://www.amazo...

My mask and strap cleaning 'machine'..... (Every 3 to 5 weeks or so if I think of it. Not religious about it) - Insert mask and strap. - Add two to three drops Dawn dish liquid. - Add warm water to 3/4 full. - Let soak a few minutes. - Shake vigorously for a minute. - Drain and add cold water to rin...

Re: Newly diagnosed — Respironics vs airsense

No. Last I checked, Respironics didn't even ship a *travel* bag (ie, padded to protect the equipment, Resmed does, lose for philips. One or two people that've tried both prefer Respironics, everyone else, by an overhwelming majority, prefer Resmed. Plus, they're quieter. Both the DreamStation 1 (fr...

Re: Air Sense 11 and toxic vapor fumes

A couple of questions...... - Do you have any kind of cleaning routine you do to the CPAP machine, hose, and mask (SoClean or similar)? - The symptoms you cite are a few that could be linked to CO2 (carbon monoxide) poisoning and perhaps the odor you noticed was related. Is there anything in your r...

Re: CPAP Machine not working correctly, but not completely broken?

When was the last filter change done? I went through a short period a few months ago when pollen was in air and the filter on my DS2 got dirty fairly quickly, may have had restricted the air flow, and did seem to affect my daily numbers.
