Re: CBD Oil - Does it work for you, What have you tried?
We have tried three different brands and concentrations (the "mg" amount shown on the bottle) and we could not tell any difference at all. You can go through a lot of money trying CBD oil, good brands with higher concentrations, are very expensive. Also, do not be fooled by "Hemp" Oil" which is much...

Re: CSA and Opioids
A little off topic (expanded really), it is known by some doctors that pain medications can reduce "REM" sleep down to near zero. Also, Xanax which is often given as a sleep aid can reduce "deep" sleep too near zero (I do not know if other benzos have the same effect or not). In my case, I was takin...

Re: Urination
I wonder how many people that have SA do not know that multiple trips to the bathroom each night is a very good indication of having SA? I bet not 1-in-1oo non-SA educated folks know of this connection; how many doctors do? This is especially important to people that do not have sleep partners and c...

Re: Necessary to have a backup machine?
I have two identical ResMed APAP Machines that are about 2-3 years old each. I did not expect to buy a second machine, but a great "Black Friday" deal came up two years ago and I grabbed it. I switch the machines from active to spare on occasion, but I really keep the second one stored in its travel...

Re: Wedge pillows?
I used to have a wedge pillow for GERD problems, but now we have a power bed so we just elevate the head of the bed a little. No longer needed for GERD, just like it raised a little. Do not believe that it helps with SA because my AHI numbers stay the same when sleeping on a flat bed. Wedge pillows ...

Re: Travel machines
Travel machines it seems are just as expensive and just a little smaller than standard size machines. Therefore, in my case, I decided that it was a better option just to buy a second identical APAP machine. Advantages: 1) all data collected are compatible and smoothly merge into Sleepyhead, 2) no r...

Re: OT: Light Bulb Moment On Limb Movements and Iron
I am currently in the middle of my ferritin reduction program. After four blood donations in 3 1/2 weeks my ferritin dropped from 600 to under 300. My doctor told me to continue my blood donations until my ferritin level drops to 50, but at a reduced rate of once a month (which is still twice the n...

Re: To Humidify or Not
If I end up getting the ResMed AirSense 10, they sell a piece that you insert in place of the humidifier. Amazon has it for around $20. As Pugsy said, you do not need to buy the humidifier replacement for the AirSense 10, but I did to reduce the footprint of the machine by a couple inches. I use th...

Re: OT: Light Bulb Moment On Limb Movements and Iron
Not sure that anyone should increase their ferritin level, you may be referring to iron in the blood being too low and needed to be increased, which is totally different. Ferritin is a marker in the blood indicating how much iron is being stored in your body's organs, something that you do not want....

Re: RLS: Magnesium Type?
I agree, which is why I never watch his TV show. However, on his website you can pick any segment that looks interesting (at least it used to, but I have not checked it for a long time). In this case, magnesium, he was not selling anything, just explaining how important magnesium is and how to get i...

Re: RLS: Magnesium Type?
It is nearly impossible to get enough magnesium from food unless you count the "assumed" magnesium amount from your food every meal. This is why it is well know that most of the population is magnesium deficient and you do not want to be deficient in this very important mineral. To be effective, mag...

Re: Springing Forward
I have to move my atomic clock to another room so it can receive a clean signal, but I have another RF noise creating device nearby so my situation is not typical. The radio signal from Colorado is a very low frequency and subject to all kinds of noise interference. For example, a thunder storm will...

Re: Cpaptalk.com vs Apneaboard.com
I read both boards, but prefer this one. The Apnea Board is a non-profit organization and because of this they are highly restricted on what they can allow to be posted. Just try to post a "link" to anything that may have something to sell somewhere on that site. You will get slammed quickly (I know...

BTW - - Carnival has some of the strictest rules concerning extension cords and surge protectors. Let them provide what you need for your CPAP machine.

Re: Cruise and CPAP
Whatever CPAP vendor said that extension cords are bad for their machines was "misinformed" to be nice. The power drawn from the AC outlet, like nearly all devices made in the last 10 years or so, is not very much and of no concern when using an extension cord. The only real danger of extension cord...
