Chronic depression does indeed exist: See:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dysthymia

Much more information on chronic depression can be found on the internet and elsewhere.
Not even gonna dignify that idiot with a response, but thank you Lucyhere.

Re: Is the humidifier heating?

Something I stumbled across the hard way with the AirSense: Make sure the power supply is SNUG to the back of the machine. I work in a nursing home, and had a resident who was religious about using her CPAP, even during frequent daytime naps. She called and asked me to refill her humidifier tank, bu...

Re: Does cpap therapy help with depression?

What bad sleep sure will do is make you more aggressive, more irritable, bad tempered and mostly against your self. Depression is a state where your arms have dropped. Where you have given up, where hope has vanished which is the last and only one that could have helped you. Any depression will end...

Re: Does cpap therapy help with depression?

As someone who has both, and was diagnosed with depression LONG before sleep apnea, I can tell you CPAP has improved my overall mood. Every MD, PhD, therapist I've ever had has stressed the need for good sleep hygiene as a help in managing my depression, but if that sleep isn't of good *quality* the...

What make/model/size nasal pillows are you using? How long have you been using it? How long have you been on CPAP? All info we'll need to have in order to help you further.

I'm sorry, can you elaborate? I don't see how OSA and cystitis could be related?

Re: setting up old machine for wife

Since the "old" machine is an S9, you may not need to get one through insurance (unless it's no cost to you). If her prescription says 6cm that's a great starting point, as you said, 6-20 for a few days to collect data and see how she tolerates it.

Re: Newbie from Denver. How long to get used to a cpap machine?

2. If I normally snore through my mouth will a nasal mask even help? I used to snore like a freight train, ran friend/relatives/lovers out of the bedroom. I have only ever used nasal pillows, and after a couple weeks with a minimalist chin strap to help train my jaw, I no longer snore unless I forg...

Re: Dating after divorce & CPAP

Night Warrior, what's the rush? I HATED that I had a couple well-meaning co-workers who wanted to help fix me up before the ink on my decree was even dry! That said, I'm divorced now 15 years (this month, actually. Huh.) and haven't had a serious relationship since my OSA diagnosis 3.5 years ago. Bu...

Re: Has PAP therapy helped anyone with night terrors?

Not absolutely related to your question, but a recent anecdote from my world: I don't often remember dreams anymore, because my sleep quality overall has been vastly improved. But Sunday night, after completing a fairly stressful 10-day stretch at work, I fell asleep early in bed, without my mask. W...

Re: How many of you snored as a kid?

I snored, but so did both my parents so I thought it was normal. That is, until I had a friend over in 5th grade. I woke up the next morning and she was on the couch. She said she'd elbowed me to stop the snoring, and when that didn't work she'd hit me over the head with her teddy bear! After that s...

Re: replace supplies

I've used the same hose for 2-3 years, complete with handyman repairs to the pussycat perforations (duct tape works wonders). I've used the same set of nose pillows out of necessity for well over a year with no ill effect on my therapy. Replace *as needed* not abridging to the salesman's recommendat...

Re: Don't know how good my DME is

DME = SALES---They have no other responsibility. The rest is up to YOU--and your doctor, (if you can get him cornered.) +1000 My sum total of contact with my DME is a reminder email AND a robocall about reordering supplies that I do not need. I wish I could get the calls to stop, they're ...

Re: Nose Piercing with Bipap mask?

I made an appointment to get a nose piercing on tuesday. Last night I realized my nose pillow and the humidity may prevent healing or cause infection. Should I be concerned ? Should I not get it? If you're using pillows I wouldn't worry about the humidity adversely affecting healing time. The insid...

Re: Humidifier Tank cleaning - Is vinegar necessary?

No, vinegar is not required. Give it a good scrub like you usually do and don't stress. Truth be told, i only wash my tank once a month or so. Soap and water and a good scrubbing is all you need.
