Re: Travelling with the Airsense 11 machine ? Is it viable ?

Ok, I see that you were already reminded that you might need an adapter if you're traveling outside of France (which is shown as your home country). If you're traveling to mast parts of the Americas, the electrcity will be 110 volts / 60 hz. THis will not be an issue for your CPAP, you cell phone, o...

Re: Dreamstation 2 Updated Prescription?

This raises a couple of important points: 1. In Australia, remotely changing the prescription without informed consent would be illegal. Is that not the case in the US? . . . It might be "illegal," but I can't see it being prosecuted as a crime, or even sanctioned by the medical licensing board (in...

Re: Bursts of air coming out of mouth, CPAP no longer usable

If the air pressure is so great that it passes through closed lips, then the pressure is probably too high. If you have a pressure range, lower the top number. If you have a fixed pressure, just lower it a bit.

Re: Dreamstation 2 Updated Prescription?

In the US, only a doctor can legally change your pressure prescription. It seems that the original poster's doctor did this. This means that this doctor was very attentive. However, (s)he should have notified the patient.

Re: Nose sores making cpap impossible

Try soaking the piece that touches the area in question in vinegar solution (at least 50% and at least three hours) before the first (or next) use.

Re: Dreamstation 2 preheat & SD card question

You can move the SD card from your DS1 to your D22. Oscar will handle it, you don't need to erase anything.

There is no pre-heat function on a DS2.

The heated hoses from your DS1 will work on your DS2, even though there's a new type for the DS2.

Re: How Honest is 'your' Sleep Doc?????

My sleep doc accidentally billed the wrong insurance company (where I NEVER had coverage). For some stupid reason they paid, and never attempted to recover from me. At this point, it's way too late for me to return the money, as I lost the opportunity to bill the correct insurance, given that the co...

Re: Rain Out

BTW, I don't think that anybody mentioned this, but make sure the machine is lower than your head. This will allow any condensation to flow back into the tank, rather than into your mask.

Re: French newbie struggling with an Oscar reporting in French

If you're more comfortable with English (or the English acronyms), you have the option to reinstall OSCAR in English. There are actually separate options for US English and UK English, but these differences are no big deal, at least not for native English speakers.

Re: What to do with used Cpap machines?

When you get a new one, keep the old one as a backup (if it's operational). Also, keep all the unused filters, as they might be hard to get for an older machine. Likewise for any heated hoses (standard hoses are universally compatible). Ditto for water tanks. If it's not in working order, see if it ...

Re: Issues with Philips recall/remediation

In all cases, you can use old standard (non-heated) hoses and masks. If they send a refurbished/re-manufactured/rehabilitated/remediated DS1, you can use the humidifier, the modem, the filters, the SD card, and heated hoses from you old machine. If they send a DS2, you can use the heated hoses and t...

Re: still tired after using CPAP

All to frequently, I hear something like "CPAP didn't really help, so I stopped using it; then I felt worse than ever!" What's going on here, is that the recovery was gradual, so the it was not really noticed until it went away! Remember that if it takes several months to feel better, you still feel...
