Re: What are trolls
I see this often , probably all newbies see it, so who are they. The meaning of the term has evolved. If you go way back to the days of e-mail lists and usenet news groups, before the world wide web, it pretty clearly meant someone with a talent for eliciting an overreaction from others. The usage ...

Re: My Dad
Okay, so my dad has not been sleeping well for many years. Over the last 10 years or so his snoring has gotten markedly worse and he wakes up with bloodshot eyes, looking more and more haggard every day. He is sure he has sleep apnea but when he took a sleep study for the insurance company he says ...

Re: OT: Recommend a Lymphoma forum?
Some years back, I was looking for a good colon cancer forum. I found that the site sponsored by the Association of Cancer Online Resources, http://www.acor.org, had mailing lists specialized for a large number of cancer types. I can't speak with experience for any of the ACOR lymphoma mailing lists...

Add one more satisfied Prevacid customer. I started on two daily capsules but one in the morning has turned out to be enough to prevent GERD and let my esophagus heal.

Re: POLL: What got you into xPAP therapy ?
There is no button for "strangers on airplanes kept telling me I had sleep apnea," which was one of the things that led me to suspect the problem. Fighting sleep every afternoon was another. The weird thing, though, is all the information my wife had but never shared until after I told her I was goi...

Re: Pulling Mask Off Every Night :(
This is getting frustrating. I sleep with my mouth open or slightly open and after putting on my mask and finally drifting off to sleep, about 2-3 hours into it I wake up with a SEVERE case of cotton mouth. Lips, tongue, gums...etc all dry. I thought about taping or getting a chin strap, but when I...

Re: Advice Requested on Mirage Quattro Face Mask
You are the man of the day. Four days in with a FFM and pressure of 17! Rooster, Thanks for the kind words, but although I only joined this group a few days ago, I've been using the CPAP machine almost four weeks now. It's really made a difference. Other than working to find the mask sweet spot bet...

Re: Advice Requested on Mirage Quattro Face Mask
You might want to take my comments with a grain of salt, as I'm too new to know much yet, but I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of this CPAP thing. I've got the same mask -- it is quite popular -- and I had an occasion to take it totally apart and put it back together recently. I don't think ...

Re: FULL FACE MASK AND OTHER CONCERNS
I have the Resmed Mirage Quattro mask. I've only been using CPAP for a couple of weeks, and I managed to hurt the bridge of my nose at first by tightening the mask too much to try to prevent leaks. However, I quickly found that the upper strap could be left rather loose and the forehead pad adjusted...

Re: International Travel - Travel to Germany
I haven't been to Germany with my CPAP machine yet, but I have taken other appliances there. You did not mention what machine you have. My ResMed S8 accepts either North American 110 volt or European 220 volt alternating current. I think this is common, but check your specifications to be sure. If s...

Re: Does anyone trust CPAP equipment in checked luggage
I just completed my first air journey with my first CPAP machine, a ResMed Elite II, carrying it with a humidifier and mask in the original ResMed bag. I flew American Airlines and carried on a standard roller suitcase and a large briefcase in addition to the CPAP bag. I was not hassled at any stage...
