Re: MRSA
especially since studies show that 50% of people with cellphone have MRSA ON their cellphones. Meaning you can breathe that in very easily. Can you supply a source for this number? I find the percentage shockingly high. A study that I saw found ~ 12.5% cell phones collected in a Turkish hospital fr...

Re: Mask to achieve higher CO2 Sat? (Nonventing/Rebreathing)?
So, I have decided I am simply chasing my tail here, as this study does not even take sleep disordered breathing into consideration as none of the participants had either the diagnosis or classic symptoms of SDB. Au contraire , "IMHO", this is most pertinent, because based on the information thus f...

Re: Mask to achieve higher CO2 Sat? (Nonventing/Rebreathing)?
It is extremely likely that it stems from something else, statistically speaking. What else are you proposing? Even waking, I have a shallow respiratory drive. I feel the proximity of my breathing issues to my awakenings makes a decent case toward pursuing treatments/diagnostics intended for respir...

Re: Mask to achieve higher CO2 Sat? (Nonventing/Rebreathing)?
Unlike oximeters, capnometers are quite expensive. I'll say! The sensor and cable they're using in the article costs fifteen hundred bucks!! And that doesn't even count the actual capnograph!! Weird quoting there! I was not quoting somnolence, but responding to him/her $1,500 is on the cheaper side...

Re: Oxygen Supplementation vs CPAP
"Holy thread resurrection, Batman!" I think the resurrecter makes some good points, and to be fair, s/he is right that sometimes bad advice is given on the forum. Not every post is a gem and one needs to use good judgment when taking advice. We need to be careful who we listen to for sure. Well... I...

Re: Mask to achieve higher CO2 Sat? (Nonventing/Rebreathing)?
Sure - it's entirely plausible that my awakenings could stem from something else. I feel the diagnostic and treatment options for those possibilities are far less palatable than re-breathing a minor amount of CO2. Further, I'm not convinced chasing a number of unknowns or potentially unsubstantiata...

Re: Newbie from Oregon
Welcome, Suzanna We started CPAP at about the same time! WE also had a similar experience. The first night was great , the second meh, the third the anxiety started and continued for awhile. The terrific folks here have been helping me problem solve. Although I hesitate to say it, I think I've got t...

Re: S9 Auto set
pappy, the S9 display gives very limited info. IN order to review more detailed data, you need to download software, like Sleepyhead and/or Res Scan (links to both can be found by searching the forum.) You'll need an SD card reader. Take the SD card out of the back of the machine and load the data o...

Re: How to adjust Breaths Per Minute
Hello, How can I change the Breaths Per Minute of my moms CPAP machine (REMstar Pro with C-Flex) ? She has been complaining about it for a while, saying it is too fast for her. I researched on how to reach the clinical menu and all that, but the variable names in the setup are confusing to the both...

Re: MRSA
The Dr told me that everyone has this in their body and a weakened immune system makes you more likely to have an outbreak. Well, that is not quite true, although the second part of your sentence is right on the money. A significant percentage of people have been colonized with staph aureus, but it...

Thank you, All, for taking the time to give me the information! Kate M, I have been doing exactly what you have been talking about in assessing what has to be cleaned up. I appreciate the very clear directions! I have bleach and h202 but need to get the alcohol. Excellent! However, if I am understa...

Re: MRSA
I got Staff Infection 10 years ago while having a hip replacement surgery at the local hospital. In my case the bacteria entered my blood stream and also remained on the implant metal body. None of the above "advice" was (is) pertaining to me because the Staff is inside my blood stream and not on m...

Avi123, Here is a challenge for you. Can you go at least a week without saying something nasty on this board? I realize that can be a subjective issue but when several people keep commenting that your posts fit the description, in my opinion, you have a big time problem. 49er +1 I have noticed that...
