Higher AHI
I'll make this as short as I Can. My previous mask of preference is the Philips Fitlife Total mask. It's a "fireman-looking" mask. For comfort factors, I would use the pad-a-cheek liner, but my leak rates would disturb my sleep. I have COPD, breathing issues, three strokes in the last couple years, ...

Re: Airsense11 bluetooth?
Thank you I wondered if OSCAR would be worth the bother If you can't get your android to work, then get your info off your machine's screen. I use MyAir to get my basic info, then I go about my daily business. I use Oscar for detail information if something is going on with my sleep or a printed re...

Re: alternating masks
I do it all the time. I swap from the Mirage Quattro to the Philips Total face mask. The Mirage is less intrusive, but gives the bridge of my nose trouble. Thats when I swap.

I'm with LSAT, I wouldn't worry about it. Make sure you rinse it well.

Re: Lesson learned: if you go to the hospital, bring your own . . . machine
I was a "guest" for 3 nights after my spinal fusion. Brought my own machine--eff using any other! (Medicare won't cover "unnecessary" stuff, and the hosp. would be holding the bill.) Nothing makes greedy people reasonable like money. Didn't think of that. Thank You! I'm always asking: "Does Medicar...

Re: Lesson learned: if you go to the hospital, bring your own . . . machine
I embarrassed to say how many times I've been in the hospital over the years, My advise: don't mess with a cpap machine. The nurses are always coming in to take your temperature anyway.

Re: Lifespan of my machine
I agree with Zonk. Most folks that don't have a backup machine will only get caught one time without a backup and they will never let it happen again. I keep one for me, and I have one for both of my kids. They don't have one, and guess who they call when theirs craps out? Don't tell them! If you ha...

Re: Bleep hose management advice
I have used the Hose Buddy for over for almost 10 years. I love it. It goes where my cpap goes. you can disassemble it for travel. My kids also use it and love it. About 50 bucks at cpap.com

Re: can a cpap machine be used to indicate sleep apnea?
I did it with two of my kids. I say kids.... but they were over 20 years old. They slept with the machine, and both AHI's were over 1, even with the mask. This was several years ago, and they still use therapy. They feel much better and display the positive effects of successful therapy treatment. S...

Re: OT... YouTube 'Medicare School'
I might need to watch some of those videos. I have a Medicare Advantage plan. The premiums are zero. There is a dental benefit included that pays fully for two cleanings per year and has some decent dental work benefits. My gym membership is fully paid for. Also, I get $125 per quarter to cover OTC...

Re: Higher AHI with full face mask
I often switch from the Philips Total face mask to the Mirage Quattro. I also get different readings. I've also been sick lately, which also messes with my numbers. As long as they are in range... I keep on pedaling!

Re: AirFit F20 hurts
I am like Froggy. The F20 would beat my nose up. I would put my old trusty Phillips Fitlife Total Face mask on for a while. It's been a few years on the Total mask. Dang... I haven't thought about going back.
