Re: Philips Dreamstation auto or fixed
Just to clarify what I meant - Is the algorithm different on the Dreamstation auto at 6 compared to the dreamstation fixed ? I felt on the fixed dreamstation machine set at 2 exhale it seem a little more comfortable to breath on. On 2 on the auto I seem to exhale to much and feel as if I am not gett...

Re: Philips Dreamstation auto or fixed
Thanks for all the replies, over 90 sounds a bit high for a night. Two nights ago it was about 6.1 AHI only for about 4 hours though. I think the sleep physician uses encore. I had a download yesterday. Is encore any good? I just trialling a dreamstation auto machine and they set the start pressure ...

Re: Philips Dreamstation auto or fixed
Hi all, Thanks Chicagogranny and Pugsy for the tips. I have lost weight so in the healthy weight range, and avoid coffee and caffeine after mid afternoon. I probably don't get enough exercise at desk at work etc. Well last night was better, I set the RAMP at 6 and exhale set at 2.It took about 1 hou...

Philips Dreamstation auto or fixed
Hi all, I have been trialing the dreamstation fixed and finding it takes along peroid before dosing of to sleep (up to 2 hours). Is that normal for starting on CPAP. When I do get to sleep I might get 3-4 hours straight and wake up and then take it off so I can get back to sleep is that normal? Mayb...

Re: Dreamstation - max hose length
Just want to put the dreamstation further away from the bed I am curious about why you want to do this? In setting up any process, simpler is better. You might also think about what happens when you travel. Carrying a 12-foot hose takes up more space in the bag than a 6-foot hose. Slight whir sound...

Re: Noise going up air tube to mask - how do you stop it?
Very light sleeper, I tended to wear earplugs to bed but now with CPAP it tends to amplify the vibration/sound louder when they are in.Julie wrote:Have the dealer look at it - I doubt if it's supposed to do that (or are you an ultrasensitive person when it comes to sounds?).
Cheers

Noise going up air tube to mask - how do you stop it?
Hi all, Just wondering how you stop the noise going from the CPAP machine, up the tube into the mask. When I put earplugs in you can hear the whiring of the motor, when take earplugs out its much better but still hear it. Its not the air noise of breathing in and out its an additional noise. Any tip...
