Re: Hubby Has Apnea And It's Difficult!

It's a shot in the dark, but many doctors only give T3 thyroid supplements for hypothyrodism, I know because my sister had this issue. The thinking is if you supplement with T3, the body converts that to t4, but some people have an issue converting, the problem is, some doctors are too uninformed t...

Re: Best inexpensive FFM that does not leak at bridge of nose?

Go to Cpap.com and check out the Amara View. Note, any size mask will fit the headgear and you can order replacements separately. All at a reasonable price for out of pocket purchase. Second on this, the bridge of my nose is Recessed and any mask that uses the bridge never works for me. Amara and o...

Re: I'm a dentist treating myself! CPAP Results... Advice please?

I celebrate the fact that dentists are becoming more aware of sleep apnea. Before cpap, it was not uncommon for me to sleep during dental procedures --including a ROOT CANAL. If my then-dentist had known, my cpap treatment would have started years earlier. It is good that this improved education ma...

Re: Nervous about swapping to Resmed from Philips

Just switched from the Dreamstation auto to Airsense10 AutoSet about a week ago. My experience has been nothing but positive. I had been using Philips machines since 2014. With the Dreamstation auto my settings were 12-20 and the pressure would always go walking throughout the night to about 18. My...

Re: Breathing disturbances still causing awakenings?

Exactly Zonker, and for me it least it's consistently reduced my overall apnea load. Of course LIkely I'll always be on the mask, but just sleeping through the night is great. I suggest just buying black pepper corns, 2 orders of magnitude cheaper then buying curcumin with piperine.

Re: Breathing disturbances still causing awakenings?

I had the same issue... "treated" at 2 AHI, but with constant wake ups at night from full and even like you <10 second events. What helped me was higher pressure, Tumeric and Pepper before bed, and Gastrodia elata which seems to help me sleep deeper. Now i'm consistently .1-.4 AHI and don't seem to ...

Re: Sudden mouth issues

Also I thought I had mouth breating issues, but it turned out to be mouth leak. either way it interrupts sleep and causes dry mouth. taping worked for me. Maybe I'll find a full face mask some day that fits my deep thin face correctly.

Nobody around me believes me... According to him such low AHI couldn't possibly alter someone's cognitive functions. Here are my results if you wish to form an opinion on them - [ Well, your oxygen never get's very low, but personally I feel like shit if I have apnea of over 2 per hour. I find that...

Re: I feel stupid, can no longer focus and my memory is simply terrible.

OP, I definitely had this issue and honestly it didn't get completely better untill 2 years after cpap start and also there was a dramatic change when I added certain supplements. noopept helped a lot, I took it for about 4 months, and the literature does show it can help rebuild the brain. I also t...

Re: New CPAP user serious Issue with feelings of depression and anxiety

I had a lot of anxiety and wierd feelings, burst of heart rate etc as my body was kicking back into regular gear. The body can be so depressed when off cpap, that it's just in this state of blase. Once my adrenals adjusted I felt just fine. Exercise helps, I had to supplement with magnesium for a wh...

Re: ED and Sleep Apnea

It's been a long time since I've been on here. Been back on the CPAP over a year now. It hasn't been a magic solution to the boners. I was stressing last year that maybe I had cardiovascular disease, or something. I met with my doctor last November. He said my circulation is fine. I would say that ...

Re: ED and Sleep Apnea

Google searches don't hit the forum, only if someone clicks on the link and comes here to the page. Yes, I realize that. didn't realize I needed to spell it out, but I guess I should have considering CG's comment. Seems like a strange thing or you to go into a rant over, especially when you're wron...
