Re: ESON ???

Eson2 has a washable diffuser; the diffuser on the original Eson isn't washable to my understanding. The Pico mask is very similar, but doesn't have as good diffuser/vent. I use both the Eson2 and Pico on a rotation basis. I bought strap covers for both since strap marks can often occur on my cheeks...

Re: OT - Statins and You

Update: I have been off Crestor for 2 weeks. Relying on diet and exercise to keep my lipids low. My cardiologist suggested a PCSK9 inhibitor Repatha to lower my cholesterol. There is another competing brand called Praluent. Both are quite expensive....recently dropped in price from US$14k per year b...

Re: ResMed prices at CPAP.com

I am surprised at how much cheaper APAPs are priced in Canada. During BF and CM, Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset with tubing and a limited mask selection were priced as low as CAD$545 or about US$400. They are back up CAD$200+. Amazon Canada currently has an Airsense 10 Autoset only for CAD$650...no mask...

Re: Newbie: Buy apap before study?

Be sure to get two prescriptions. Get one as Slobber states and get another one that states "Cpap mask of patient's choice". Make copies of both prescriptions. I scanned mine. That way you can use the mask prescriptions at several places. I started my son on cpap without a sleep study. I set the lo...

Re: First I've heard of it: Resmed N30i

That is about $90 US. Add $20-30 for US shipping.....I wish we could get these down here! I don't know if ResMed puts the same restrictions on the Canadian online suppliers as they do with US online suppliers but if they do we can't order it from Canada and have it shipped to a US address. ResMed w...

Re: Medistrom Pilot 24 Plus and Co-Pilot 24: Any Charging Issues?

Tech support has diagnosed a cell issue with the Pilot 24 Plus. They will be replacing the discontinued unit with the Pilot 24 Lite. The Co-Pilot 24 was checked out fine. Hope that they will work well together besides the difference in footprint.

Re: OT - Statins and You

I am thinking of cutting my 40 mg atorvastatin in half--just to help form firmer stools. (No, the frog is not full of it--not for long, anyway!) Fiber does no good at all. Others blame Lipitor--it's worth a shot. My Lipitor dose was twice that....80 mg/day. Didn't recall any stool issues. Crestor i...

Re: OT - Statins and You

Already on a cardiac or heart healthy diet. Trying to exercise more...muscle issues are limiting this. Have a family history of diabetes. My dad had it since he was in his 20 or 30s. Already lost 25 pounds since July. My cardiologist didn't think my cholesterol was that high before the MI. Since goi...

Re: OT - Statins and You

Looking for a statin alternative. Was on Lipitor since my MI in July 2018. The last 2 weeks my cardiologist switched me to Crestor due to muscle discomfort, stiffness fatigue , memory issues etc. My sleep is now worse with Crestor than with Lipitor. Reading mixed reviews about statins. Looking for a...

Re: Medistrom Pilot 24 Plus and Co-Pilot 24: Any Charging Issues?

Sometimes with backup batteries they beep when power from the wall is not ideal and the backup takes over powering the load. The power in your area might be not ideal, it's not uncommon, especially in older buildings. Otherwise I would contact the manufacturer. Thanks. I will check the voltage...I ...

Medistrom Pilot 24 Plus and Co-Pilot 24: Any Charging Issues?

I have been using this setup with my Airsense 10 Autoset as a UPS for a number of months. A few weeks ago, the batteries started beeping while my AC was still on. It seems like that they could not hold its charge anymore. Anybody else having similar issues?

One nasal mask with a diffuser is the Fisher and Paykel Eson2. I rotate this with my other masks. Good luck.

Re: Cpap buyer still confused! (Canadian in Alberta)

I am in central Alberta. In Feb 2018, my insurer paid for my main unit (Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset with heated tube and a nasal mask) at CAD$2500 ($2175 for APAP & $325 for nasal mask). This was from a local sleep clinic/DME. In May 2018, I bought a backup unit (Airsense 10 Autoset for Her) from a C...

Re: Please recommend where to try APAP masks in Toronto, Canada?

I believe that most CPAP Talk forum members would likely prefer Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset or Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset for Her (same unit, different colour, with an extra mode) over the Philips Respironics Dreamstation Auto as an APAP device. Your DME/sleep clinic is where one mostly test out diff...
