Thanks for the insight Pugsy
It looks like my 90% pressure is usually >/= to 7. Do you think it would be worth changing the minimum to that? I know at a pressure of 10 I swallow too much air.

Nose bleed this morning. Should I change pressure or temp?
This is the 2nd time this has happened. First was a few weeks ago. As soon as I got up and took my mask off, I felt blood coming out of my right nostril! Here's some info for context: - Had septum realignment surgery last year - Feels like septum reverted back (constricted right nostril) - Climateli...

Re: Need help interpreting sleepyhead data
Hi Pugsy, here's my flow limitation graph that goes along with the ones in my first post: http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/y405/pjavid/ScreenShot2013-11-12at45146PM_zpseb062ff2.png By the way, how is the flow limitation graph interpreted? My bedtime varies between 12-1 am, and wake-up between 8-9...

Re: Need help interpreting sleepyhead data
Thanks! I'm sleeping better than when I had the lower pressure, but am not feeling as rested as I would hope. I still need to hook up my cozy hose boss.... for the past 2 weeks I've been laying the tubing on my bed instead of using a hanger. edit: oh and I definitely need to go to bed/wake up at con...

Need help interpreting sleepyhead data
About 2 weeks ago, I posted how I was thinking of switching to a dental appliance for OSA. Several members suggested I change my pressure from 4-16 to 6-16. I've been doing that for a while now, and thought I would post some of my sleepyhead data to see what further changes can be made. One thing I ...

Re: Considering a dental device for apnea. Appreciate feedback.
Thanks for the advice Zoocrew! My doctor had me set the pressure to 4-16, because at 10-16 cmH2O, I was swallowing a lot of air. I use Sleepyhead software. I'll set my machine to 6-16 cmH2O tonight, and post up my results tomorrow. I didn't know that pressure should be lowered to decrease central ap...

Re: Considering a dental device for apnea. Appreciate feedback.
I agree that I should focus on optimizing the CPAP. I've used it the past few nights and have not had snoring/headaches, but I keep waking up from the tube touching my face or the exhaust. I'm using the hose buddy. I can't find the thread on self-titration. Does anyone have a link or tips on that, a...

Re: Considering a dental device for apnea. Appreciate feedback.
I truly appreciate all the feedback I was diagnosed with OSA in 2011, and have been off and on of CPAP up until this past June, when I committed to sticking to a good therapy. This time around, my sleep study showed I had mild OSA (AHI of 12) with the O2 reaching only 92% at it's worst. The report s...

Re: Considering a dental device for apnea. Appreciate feedback.
Thanks for the responses everyone. I tried a full face mask about a year ago, and I was miserable. I woke up even more with that mask then with my nasal pillows. The sleep doctor advised me to lower my pressure to 4 cmH2O to help eliminate air swallowing. The AHIs have been below 1-2, but then I hav...

Considering a dental device for apnea. Appreciate feedback.
Hi all, I tried sleeping without CPAP for a week to see how I responded. I used an iPhone app to record my snoring and record any factors that may affect my sleep. This is what I noticed: without CPAP (just saline spray) - I snore for about 1 hour each night - I don't think I wake up as much at nigh...

want to purchase finger pulse oximeter
I'm interested in the CMS 50D Plus, based on a suggestion by a forum member. I see a very similar product on Amazon called AH 50D Plus. From the pictures and description, it looks to be the same as the CMS. Does anyone know if they are indeed the same? Thanks!

Re: sleep specialist changed my pressure settings
That's a good point. I don't have a device to measure my O2 saturation. Are there relatively inexpensive ones to buy, possibly to integrate with the ResMed S9?

Re: sleep specialist changed my pressure settings
Thanks for the reply! As far as leaks go, I'm fairly certain I didn't leak air through my mouth, even without the chinstrap or tape over my mouth! Perhaps my nose was extra stuffy last night? If I can bump it up to 6, and still avoid swallowing air, and mouth-leaking, I think that may be better for ...

sleep specialist changed my pressure settings
I have been on CPAP for about 6 weeks now. The sleepyhead numbers look fine, but my sleep quality is still poor. I saw the sleep specialist yesterday and told him how I was leaking air through my mouth (I use nasal pillows) and also swallowing a lot of air. He suggested I change my pressure settings...
