Re: Mouth Breathing - Is It Really So Bad?
I don't think you can put monetary value on your health. I'm also in the process in trying to get my treatment to work. And I've put a lot of money on getting a mask that works and a CPAP. Infact I've ordered 2. The longer you allow sleep apnea to go untreated, the worse it gets. It's f***ed me up i...

Re: Mask for someone with Multiple chamical sensitivities
Thanks for the replies- I have soaked the nasal mask ( which is not a nasal pillow) in vinegar and water for a couple of days- the hoses have offgased but the mask has not. I have also reviewed the various ask types- which did lead me to Sleepweaver. I keep working on the silicone ask I have becaus...

Re: Mask for someone with Multiple chamical sensitivities
I have been trying to learn to use a CPAP but the silicone mask, hose, etc have caused issues. I currently am trying a Resmed Airfit nasal- at least that is what I think it is plus I have a Sleepweaver Elan nasal. I had to do all the research to find Sleepweaver myself as the folks who did my sleep...

Re: cold hands
I'll need to get this treated properly first. The times I do get sleep apnea sleep. I seem to wake up with much colder hands than normal. I might be hypothyroid. But I'll have to get this treated first. I'm getting a dental device within a week and another CPAP machine. I'm holding down the fort at...

Re: Low testosterone?
Cpap should help you increase your testosterone. As should weight loss and diet. But it might not normalise though. It's still worth treating in my opinion.Wesley Snipes wrote:Anyone here have/had low testosterone? Any improvements with cpap?

Re: Opinions please on my oximeter readings good, bad, ok ?
Hi Mike, These look pretty bad. I've collected data like this on 4 people who have OSA, and 7 people who do not. And the oximetry charts coming from the people who do not have OSA all look the same, and look nothing like yours. People are getting hung up on the issue of how low do your O2 levels go...

Re: cold hands
What I'm asking is if anyone had cold hands related to sleep apnea that abated when treated? I'm beginning to believe it has something to do with hypoxia.

^ This is why you have to use medical tape.

Re: Opinions please on my oximeter readings good, bad, ok ?
I had something similar happen. And I know they probably weren't reliable readings. Buy a roll of medical tape and fasten the oximeter so it doesn't move. See if you still get these extreme oxygen desaturations. And pugsy is right. Desaturations are gradual. I've seen mine go down from 90 to 86-87. ...

Re: URGENT: OSA surgery and quality of life
I have a similar story. The sleep apnea has given me anxiety and rage issues. I can have fits of pure unbridled rage, which I never had before. At some points in the early days. My brain was in such a fog. I had to drag myself around, feeling retarded. That's gotten better as I've learned to manage ...

Re: Don't kill me. Weight loss has improved apnea.
My sleep doctor insists that if I lose enough weight, I can stop using the machine. I have severe sleep apnea, and I am very doubtful that this is true. It is not that I don't want to lose weight, and it is not that I don't believe some people can stop using the machine by losing weight. I just thi...
