Re: new respironics dreammachine

Vajrabell, Some things you could check regarding noise are the silicone seals in the humidifier chamber. There is one small one inside, on the air inlet (take out the water reservoir to see the seal), and the large one on the inside of the lid. Press gently but firmly around the circumference of eac...

Re: Crazy leak line charts, and rambling thoughts,....

I have really been compliant since this thread last week. . . . Good work! As for the feelings of discouragement, remember that it can take more time than we would prefer to feel big changes. The improvements tend to increase gradually with consistent continued therapy. If one has had many years of...

Re: Update-clogged filters --> high pressure -wife's humidifier?

2) The disposable air filters are cheap, but why can't we wash them? Is the mesh very tight and it uses electrostatic forces to remove the small particles so washing could be difficult or make their re-use not as effective? More out of curiosity, since they are cheap. The disposable filters are mad...

Re: AHI still too high

The hardest part is trying to be a good parent when every cell in my body screams for more sleep. You are being a good parent by attending to your health. Give yourself credit! Remember you are in a transition phase and keep focused on your goal of better sleep. Kids are resilient. If you can expla...

Re: Positive health effects from treatment?

Positive changes have been gradual for me: fingernails are stronger than they have ever been (huge reduction in splits/cracks, and I have to trim them more frequently); BP has reduced a few points; pain in hips that I thought was arthritis virtually disappeared; other random leg pain/weakness has va...

Definitely a more relaxed vibe around here now. I'm glad to see that return.

Re: Wisp mask leak blowing in eye

Also, she could try re-seating the mask after she's in sleeping position. I agree with this suggestion. She needs to let the mask inflate properly (don't over-tighten straps), and sometimes changing sleep position or even facial position can shift the seal. It's a simple adjustment; just pull the m...

Re: Sleep Study Results - Basics

Cleaning supplies are the easiest part: water, mild dishwashing liquid soap, white vinegar, maybe unscented moist wipes. If you will be using a humidifier unit as part of your machine, distilled water is recommended for use in it. You'll want a solid surface next to your bed on which to place the ma...

I see. I don't use Dream Mapper myself. But that's interesting that two different programs are exhibiting a similar oddity.

I didn't respond to X. This is very Canadian. I didn't grow up in Canada but have learned to appreciate this characteristic. We often "pretend" that very bizarre behaviour is simply not happening, and sometimes when it does actually get acknowledged, we blame it on what the govt did or didn't do .....

FWIW, follow-up after visit to resp tech and conversation with tech support at Phillips: Resp tech has never heard of this kind of micro disconnect before. I had her check my charts on the Respironics professional software for some of the times when SH says a new session started (with no input from ...
