Re: How many teeth do you have?

I'd have thought that after adolescence, there wouldn't be much chance of the jaw growing. Could there be hope for us all? Yes! Look at the photo gallery of the older lady on the DNA website. I would love to hear your comments after listening to the interview. You can download it from https://www.d...

Re: How many teeth do you have?

Does it really alter gene expression, or is it simply that if you can get the bone to grow as it should, the genetic mechanisms that would have been active anyway , but stymied by the lack of space, will correctly position the teeth? From what I understood from Dr. Park's interview last week of Dr....

Re: Can ineffective xPAP be worse than no CPAP at all?

One possibility I can imagine is that I sleep more on my back with the leaky CPAP instead of no CPAP, but the leaky CPAP can't break through the OSAs which are much worse on my back than my side. You are absolutely right ineffective CPAP can be worse than no CPAP - especially since you seem to have...

Re: Low AHI but higher pressure??

avi, You need to do more studying before you give detailed advice on how the machines work. Bob, as I understand it if you set your APAP at 6.8 cm and 14 cm it would run at 6.8 cm until it hit an Obstructive Apnea and then it will raise the pressure up to 14 cm to open up the next Obstruction. Two m...

Re: Lost weight, lost need for CPAP

I'm 6 feet tall and was 280 lbs. Lost 30 lbs over 5 months If you are 250, then your BMI is 34 and you are obese. As others have pointed out you don't know what your untreated AHI is. And you don't know how many respiratory related arousals you are having each night. You are playing the dangerous g...

IMO we were designed to have 32 teeth, straight and not crowded - no braces needed. Anything below 32 is a sign of a narrow jaw and consequently a narrow airway.

Re: Using and type of water in the humidifier

I found water in my supermarket after all. I had to ask an attendant to point it out, but it was there amidst all the spring waters. I think not being able to find things in stores is a sign of sleep apnea. It is the result of sleep deprivation and oxygen desaturation. I do much better since starti...

Have you been to an ENT for an examination of your septum and turbinates with a flexible scope? They should actually do a pharyngoscopy to also check the vocal cords.

This is a must for someone with your condition IMO.

Re: How many teeth do you have?

One theory on why so many are like this is that it's the consequence of our modern diet. It doesn't make sense that we'd evolve to have too many teeth and not be able to breathe at night, so I think there's probably something to it. http://www.westonaprice.org/dentistry/1733-from-attention-deficit-...

Re: How important is it to keep down VS (Vibratory Snore)

A sincere question for Rooster: So what is the question for Rooster? When the machine says there's MAJOR SNORING and the (three) titration studies and my husband sharing my bed every night say NO SNORING, who's more reliable? I called in my wife for a consultation. She said it is a woman's rule to,...
