Re: In need of a New Nasal Mask, need Suggestions
I second the suggestion for a Wisp, but I'm biased. It's the one mask I've used and it works for me--very quietly, after I really fine-tuned the fit. And have you looked on cpap.com (our hosts) at masks--a particularly good feature of their listings are the many reviews from people who have used any...

My condolences to those of you who were close to 49er and are now mourning.
I only knew her as one of the sensible regulars on the forum.
Her voice will be missed here.

Re: Forum time zone question about DST box
Not the easiest format to figure out--but I did anyway. Sadly, not everyone here is a geography geek. Agreed! The time zone drop-down menu is anything but intuitive. I've never seen a zone location listing like that one before. It's common. country/major city in time zone. Actually, it's continent ...

Re: Forum time zone question about DST box
As a (retired) cartographer, I have seen it before. It is a more international thing. Maybe an indication of location of source programming. Cartographer--now that sounds an interesting occupation. I discovered that the drop-down list is taken from the "tz database" which is "primarily intended for...

Re: CPAP Noise is back
How often do we have to replace the filter by the way? I really wish we would have been briefed to begin with. Were you given the user manual with the machine? Page 24 gives information about cleaning/replacing the filters. Briefly, the reusable filter can be cleaned: detach the ultrafine (light bl...

Pugsy, and Ben, too, Thank you both for combatting/dealing with all the bot nonsense. This forum is so valuable for all of us and I appreciate your efforts in keeping it open for regular business. If only spammers could turn their time and efforts to something constructive for the world. . . (yah, I...

Re: CPAP Noise is back
BTW, the biggest culprit for noise on the DreamStation appears to be the humidifier door. Please make sure that the tank is properly placed, not cracked, and that the door is shut securely. Alternatively, is it noisy without the humidifier? Another noise source can be the silicon seals inside the h...

Re: Newbie from Denver. How long to get used to a cpap machine?
It's ok to turn off the machine for bathroom breaks. If you leave it running while you're out of bed, there is no defined way of monitoring nocturia events other than memory (mine is faulty, lol!). Plus some of your numbers get skewed a little. And it's noisy.

Re: Does the perfect mask exist?
Regarding the Wisp mask, have you checked that it fits you correctly? Is the mask the right size for you? The sore on your nose may mean the headgear fit isn't balanced properly, or is too tight. You want the cushion to have enough space to inflate (like a hovercraft), but not so much that major lea...
