Re: how many masks did your tech try on you?

More on topic..

At the sleep lab they tried only one nasal mask (make unknown) and then switched from c-pap to bi-pap

At the DME they gave me what was on the shelf (turned out to be very good)

Re: how many masks did your tech try on you?

you know wulfman, I would love to be able to come on here and just relax. But everytime I click on the refresh button, someone else is saying something else negative about me. Why is that? Seriously, what is the problem here? Oh I'm sure it's everyone else, it's got to be, what else could possibly ...

Re: Leaky mask driving me nuts

New user here, just had 3rd night on CPAP. Mask is listed below. On the first night, I had virtually no problem with leaks. 2nd night, I seemed to have more trouble, and resorted to tightening it up more which seemed to help quite a bit, but it sure was tight. .. I found it helps to loosen the mask...

Re: Hypopnea vs apnea

Apnea = you stop breathing for 10 seconds or more Hypopnea = you don't breathe deep enough to get the required oxygen. I believe the technical stuff is: less than 50% required volume for at least 10 seconds. These can be obstructive or central just like apneas. Both of these have a decline in oxyge...

Kiralynx, I'm impressed. Is this just good research, or are you also in the business end of (international) Cpap?

Re: OT: Obama's Presidential Inaugural Address

Something that concerns me deeply, and is probably overlooked by most, is the predominance of the color RED,the flag color of the Bloods in the attire and accessories of all surrounding Obama. . For me, it's Chartreuse and Aquamarine. They really get my gander up. *If this is for real, then I envy ...

... The very first morning after being on my APAP (which was a Saturday morning-typical sleep in day) I got up at 7:30 and began cleaning house. My wife could not believe it. Re: Does Booze Help?

I know I have said all this before but my problem isn't getting to sleep. I go to bed, very good sleep hygiene and I am asleep within 15 mins. My problem is that around 2 o'clock I wake up wide awake. I lay until I knod off again but from that point on I am awake generally at least one time and hou...

Re: What is a normal leak rate and AHI rate?

I though it was an AI <5 (not an AHI <5) I'm interested in this also! On the Resmed my HI are always over 5, but my AI's tend to be less than 1. I'm using the adage that the Resmed over report the Hypopnea's. My bad.. it looks like it is the AHI, but, the definition of hyponea is not fixed. For exa...

As far as the AHI goes, an average of 3.6 is very good. An AHI of less that 5 is considered as apnea well treated.
