My morning headaches pretty much disappeared soon after starting CPAP.
I used to start each day with 2 paracetamol tablets (tylenol). Now, I rarely need them.

Re: anyone else wearing earplugs every night?
Yes, I do, every night. Not only does it stop me worrying about any noises the cpap might be making, I don't get disturbed by cars in the street, planes flying overhead, or other people moving about the house.

Re: Do mask cushions wear out on a month or so?
This is my 10th night with a new Amara View mask. I've been very happy w seal and sleep. I washed it this morning. Tonight there is a sizzling leak I can't get rid of. I think washing it stretches parts of the cushion and that changes the seal. What do you think? I have been using the same Amara Vi...

6 month average 8 hours, 46 minutes.
30 Day average 8 hours, 45 minutes.
I'm making up for years of bad sleep.
Immediately before starting CPAP I was sleeping close to 11 hours a day.

Re: Questions Concerning Air Sense 10 and "My Air"
It slowly dawned on me that my entire report this morning (May 7th) was probably based on 30 minutes of usage that occurred prior to midnight on May 6th. I can't access data yet for May 7th when most of my sleep "last night" took place. So my questions are as follows: Am I correct in assuming that ...

Re: Resmed Power station 2 - good to go?
I have one. The state I live is having some electricity reliability issues due to the move to renewable energy. I keep it charged and ready for any power outage. So far I have used it once, for just under 2 hours. As the blackout occurred in the middle of the night and I didn't expect the outage to ...

Re: Power failure=Suffocate?
Hi there, I too have the Airsense 10 and the Amara View. I was concerned when I started therapy about power failures and suffocation. (It was an irrational fear). Here is something for you to try tonight: Leave your machine off and attach your mask. Breathe normally. See, no problem. I have actually...

Yep, Same for me. I'm in Australia too.
A couple of days ago I did a search for cpaptalk in google and could see reference to recent posts, but was not able to access them.
You don't know how much you miss it until it is gone!!!

Re: Advice for me as I try Amara View?
. I must admit that this morning I noticed a small red spot on the very tip of my nose that may be an irritation much as you described . I quite often experience this irritation. In my case I get 2 small red spots. Mostly they are gone by the afternoon and so don't cause a problem. On one occasion,...

Re: Amara View Cushion
I have been using my second cushion now for over 200 days. I wash it every day with mild soap. My percentage above the leak rate threshold for the last week was 0.26%. This is pretty similar to when the cushion was new. I have to pay for masks and cushions, and at $90 (AUD) for the cushion alone, I ...

Re: Amara View connector tube noise
Yes, I have this problem.
Initially I thought it was a leak. It stops at certain points of the swivel.
I just wear ear-plugs. That 'fixes' it.
I am just about to retire my old head gear and mask cushion holder. I hope the new one is quieter.

Re: Benefit of APAP over CPAP
I'm a convert to APAP. My prescription pressure is 13.
My current APAP pressures are 12.4 to 17.2. I spend most of the night comfortably at the lower end with 2 or three higher pressure periods for REM or supine sleeping. Works for me

the power brick should say 110-220 50-60 cycle ... on it .
Australia is 240 volt, 50 cycle, so fits within the range. All the bricks are the same, I think?

Re: Chasing 0.0?
UA on ResMed is Unexplained Apnea = Apnea during high leak rate above 30l/m. The idea is that it is unexplained because the recording may be inaccurate at high leak rate.

Re: "Ailments" Disappear w/CPAP Therapy
For me it has been quite dramatic: Acid Reflux - Gone Blood Pressure - Normal now and off meds Stamina - No afternoon naps and a lot more active. Mental acuity - Much improved Sexual function - Improved Mood - Much improved My only regret is that I knew I had apnoea at least 10 years ago and it took...
