Re: Newbie bogged down already

Hello, I am a newbie without much success yet. I first tried a nasal mask right up against my nose. Very claustrophobic. Then they switched me to a little mask that covered only my nose. That was better but I still dread putting it on so haven't used it. I actually dread the whole idea but know I m...

Re: Help with security? {Canada)

I reread Ryan's post several times and I fail to see how anyone thought this could be spam. I understand the concern about spammers but at the time, I feel this situation called for giving him the benefit of the doubt, particularly since he mentioned his dad has sleep apnea and Alzheimer's. If he di...

Re: Pining for the good old days...

The "old" forum has seemingly gone by the wayside and become the convenience of one person, a few folks "try" to help out the newbies with decent answers but keep getting shot down and put down. With liberal use of the foe button, I could care less if I get "shot and put down". The trolls are talki...

Re: Oral Appliance & Home Testing

For years I had been using a Somnodent appliance with good results (I have mild-to-moderate obstructive apnea). Last February I needed a replacement and got what was then the latest model, one which has no metal and uses a series of plastic wings to adjust the spacing. This worked well until recent...

Emreee,

If you want to try pap therapy, I would say go for it. Just make sure you work with the experts on this forum to make sure you get a data capable machine and that you learn how to use sleepyhead to optimize your data.

Re: Drastic change in sleep patterns - Trazodone

My doctor put me on it for sleep as well but Im on a low dose (30 mg?) I noticed a little bit of improved sleepiness at bedtime but nothing close to what you felt. I am really scared up upping the dose because I hate antidepressants and I have always had terrible side effects. the one I fear the mo...

To Lucyhere and others: This website is a fantastic place for people who have (in some cases) life-threatening maladies. Do yourselves a favor and ignore any attempts at provoking arguments or faux-controversies. Getting into a urinating engagement is simply a waste of time and unneeded angst. Yes,...

Re: Pining for the good old days...

PR, You need to look in the mirror about starting flame wars before you start getting on anyone else for doing it. Contrast that with Morbius who when confronted with the same issues, admitted to the person who made the point that she was right. I am sure you will respond by calling me a troll but i...

Re: OT - Great article re food from NYT's!

xxyzx, I am shaking my head big time. TASsmart asked you for clarification regarding your initial response and did not attack you. Instead, you responded with a very condescending post. Why? By the way, I was curious about your response also when you mentioned "causation doesn't equal correlation" Y...

Re: End of the medical care deduction (slightly OT)

I'm not in the least surprised that it's the seniors this plan would harm the most... considering who cooked up this new tax policy. It WILL affect the majority of us on the forum. Not a thing any of us can do about it though -- just hope that it doesn't pass. And, I don't think the Republicans in ...

Dream Stalker, I greatly appreciate your post and your clarification of your position. I meant you had no idea what you were talking about when you said people were making excuses not to use pap therapy. Obviously, when you said pap therapy was the gold standard, that was an accurate statement. I wa...

Re: Inspire

I don't think it's CPAP being the gold standard that's at issue. It's the "excuse" part. The stereotype. It's the sheer frustration of living with something outside the usual scope of an issue that neither outsiders or even yourself can understand. It's the judgement when one's best efforts, even a...
