The APAP I have (Autoset Respond) only gives me leak data. But in response to your question (which, as always, has been better answered by Sleepless..) is check for air blowing on your face around the mask edge. One tip is to actually create a leak while you are awake and see how it feel. Just pull ...

Neversleeps, you are making me homesick. "Yeah hey der, don't yah know". Okay, so I now live in the NW burbs of Chicago, so I didn't exactly move far away. I still get a taste of winter. But it's just not the same. If nothing else, I can tell my kids that I've been out when it is -60 (and that's the...

Insurance Question
Hey guys, Will you never learn? If you keep answering my questions I'll just keep bothering you with more. I'm currently renting a machine from a local DME. (Typical exhorbitant charges of course). I'm curious if anyone has tried to then purchase a machine from CPAP.com. What happened with the insur...

Some interesting stuff here. The stuff about vanity and "denial" really hit home with me. I find a lot of things that I should be doing (diet, exercise, etc.) aren't done because of all the standard excuses. I think it is human nature to try and ignore the bad things we do to our bodies and think it...

Well I'm one of those people who doesn't have (or didn't notice) daytime symptoms. But I snored like crazy and my BP is inching up where it should not be going. After a sleep test revealed severe apnea, I got the APAP. I don't know why I got used to it so quickly, but I did. That fact that I don't s...

Well I was told to rinse my stuff in a 1 part vinegar/2 parts water solution for a half hour. (I soak the mask but then just run the solution through the hose a few times and rinse everthing off and air dry). I've seen many places recommend the vinegar/water solution with many different ratios too. ...

Well I've been on APAP therapy for 4 months now. I'm pretty much totally compliant (When I sleep, the mask is always on). Since I'm a bit OC, if I do something, I tend to do it to the nth degree. So I will be fully compliant until the day that I stop it completely. (Which, hopefully, won't ever happ...

Sounds like the last paragraph of your post is pretty good so far, no acid reflux and no chance of being murdered by your wife (at least for snoring)...not a bad start. Yup, you got me. The cessation of snoring and acid reflux should be enough in and of itself to motivate me to continue. (And I wil...

So I did my fitting of the device and have mailed it back to Dr. Sue. Ironically, in the meantime my chin strap showed up. Even though I hated the idea of wearing one I tried it anyway. for the last 5 days I've had zero leaks reported. So for me, at least initially, it seems that just a chin strap i...

Question about Nosebreathe device
Hey guys, Well in my eternal quest for a good night's sleep and fighting the dragon of mouth breathing I've ordered the "device" from Dr. Sue. But I did not get any email notification or anything back from him? My credit card has already been charged so I'm curious what's going on. I'm not too worri...

Mouth Breathing (again - sigh) (DIY appliance)
Hello all, Well I though this problem was going away but, of course, it has reared its ugly head again. So I've been looking through what I can do. FF mask is a last resort for me (more money and sounds like it ain't that workable in several cases). So I ordered a chin strap but I don't think I will...

Hey Oscar, It sounds like you really need to get some help from your Doctor or DME. Did you have a sleep study done? What was your levels titrated at? Did you order the machine online? If you got it locally, the vendor should have already setup the proper levels for you. They should have also explai...

I had somewhat the similar problem, but it passed after a short time. It could be you are a mouth breather and now when you open your mouth all the air goes whooshing out. You react by clamping your mouth shut. Repeat all night and you've got a sore jaw... You could wait a few days and see what happ...
