Re: Husband says CPAP is scary and unattractive...
All your adventures sound gloriously therapeutic indeed. Not that this is your hubby's issue, but I have a family member who is literally overcome with an ill feeling when he is in the presence of someone with an obvious health issue. It's like being an empath with a glitch in the program. We don't ...

Re: Husband says CPAP is scary and unattractive...
For the most part you'll likely find few here willing to give your husband the benefit of the doubt. I hate that you are dealing with being treated so rudely by someone you speak of glowingly in all other respects. Whatever his hangups are (and it sounds like there are some), I would hope he would t...

Re: After knee surgery, need to sleep on back
Waking a lot with pain can really make the data look bad. Some people are good enough with looking at the data to say if the events were around wakings, but I'm not one. The pain from the surgery should soon diminish enough that you find yourself sleeping in longer chunks of time and getting better ...

Re: Help with CPAP Titration (OSA, PLM, TMJ, ABC123)
Been discussing PLMD with another poster called gohoos1998. You might want to check out our conversation if you think limb movements might still be a problem. I am not familiar with if any med you are on could contribute to a limb movement issue. Might be worth asking your doctor or maybe someone he...

Re: Hi all! I am a new poster.....with PLMD as well as mild OSA
btw The Restless Leg Foundation (rls.org) has several people on their community board who have PLMD. It is not uncommon for RLS and PLMD to travel together. Seems some of the posters there have persistent and severe cases and are working valiantly to manage symptoms. The site offers info on what's la...

Glad you are feeling hopeful. Did you see my video that's linked in my signature line? I kinda feel that knowing there's life after years of that misery, surely there's cause for hope to be very much alive. Good luck with things!

Thanks for the discussion. Since I'm nearly clueless about the data I love learning from those in the know.

Someone say my name? :D Oh where to start? Sounds like you've been doing your homework, and that's good. Saves me a lot of typing. lol In general, please know that when both OSA and PLMD are present, there is a bit of a dance, and any one night snapshot of your sleep is not likely to tell your full ...

Re: Updated Photo
Y'all are too kind. Feels good to see some old familiar names and I'm wondering what's going on in your lives. It took a while after I lost weight to make peace with the new awareness that my weight had been hiding more wrinkles than I imagined. Had to give myself a good ol' talking to, that in view...

Re: diagnosed with sleep apnea, need some advice
Being referrred by an esteemed member gives you some grace. :) Most of us didn't go into this having a ball. I wanted to give up. Oh how I wanted to give up. But I was scared to go to sleep so I had to figure something out. Without CPAP I was waking with my heart pounding and gasping for breath. My ...

Re: Question for TapPap users
Gotta say my dentist didn't win any points when he kept mentioning he would make me a mouthpiece so I wouldn't need cpap. Not the direction I was trying to go. When I started using the TapPap my teeth were somewhat loose and after a few weeks they felt stronger in place than in years. I hope I retai...

Re: Question for TapPap users
The TapPap is a favorite of mine. After several years of use my dentist commented on matching spots on both sides of my gums with tissue damage. Advised me to not wear the mask and see if they cleared up, and if not to see an oral pathologist. One side cleared up, the other didn't. Glad this subject...

Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP
Hopefully you will be able to wear your mask looser and be more comfortable. For me, if a mask pushes on a certain area on the sides of the nose, it feels like I'm blocked with congestion when I know it's just the mask. Simply cannot wear a mask that fits wrong in that way. Usually a slight shift in...
