Still getting OAs...do my settings need tweaking?

I am 113 days into cpap. I am usually seeing AHI in the 1-2 range, mostly CAs and Hs; however, I am also still seeing some OAs which makes me wonder if I need to tweak the machine's settings a bit. I would appreciate some of the forum vets taking a look at last night's data to see if they would reco...

Re: Question about AHI

AHI represents the total number of apnea events divided by the number of hours you are hooked up to your CPAP machine. For example, if you have 4 apnea events during an 8 hour session, your AHI would be 4 divided by 8 which equals. .5 So your AHI = .5 In other words, AHI is not each hour, but the av...

Re: OT: Glycine for sleep--cautiously optimistic

I recently heard that the nutritional supplement, Glycine can help with sleep maintenance. It's cheap, so I thought I'd give it a try. It's not supposed to have any adverse effects and it's supposed to be most helpful with sleep maintenance. What specific product are you taking? What dose? Sounds p...

Re: Nocturia and drug treatment

I also have suffered from nocturia and have been on CPAP for about 3 months. CPAP has reduced my nighttime pee trips to maybe one (before usually 3-4), but I was still going too frequently during the day, about every 1 to 1.5 hours. I went to a new urology doctor about a month ago and in that initia...

Welcome to the forum!

You mentioned using a product called body adhesive. Could you please include a link to specifically what you’re talking about? Sounds interesting.

Re: Checking AHI when I don't sleep thru the night

Thanks for the replies. It's all so very new and it's hard to know what is "normal" and what to expect at this stage, so hearing from the vets like Pugsy really helps. Thanks!

Checking AHI when I don't sleep thru the night

This morning I checked the Airesense 10 console and saw 5.25 AHI for the night, not real bad, but not all that good either. I did get up once to go to the bathroom, so I checked out SH data for the night. Here it is: http://i.imgur.com/4QZqF2ih.png My first sleep session was almost 6 hours with AHI ...

Maintaining CPAP gear?

Newbie here with a couple of questions for the vets: 1) I see that many have backup machines. So how frequently do your machines malfunction? When it does go on the fritz, who do you send it to for repair, how long are you without that machine, and about how much do repairs cost on average? Of cours...

Re: Chin strap advice please

Here is the one I have been using, "Anti Snore Chin Strap by NONPAREIL." It's not flimsy like some, and the price is certainly right. I usually have the straps in front of my ears rather than using the slits for my ears. And, I have it under my chin rather than on my chin. I think its a matter of fi...

DCS Syndrome

About 2 months into CPAP and now I have a whole new syndrome to deal with----DCSS or "Daily CPAP Score Syndrome." The machine is carefully measuring each and every inhale/exhale, along with a bunch of other things, each and every night, so I find myself every morning checking on my "score" for the n...

Re: Where do you put your machine?

None of the above. I bought a small shelf that attaches to the side rail of the bed. It was like $20 on amazon. Keeps it just slightly lower than my head, perfect size for my machine. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07933WNPL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Wow! What a great idea, ...
