Re: Pilairo headgear, back strap sliding on my head... any advice?

There's another reason besides the hair or lack of for that pesky back strap wanting to slide up the back of the head. The shape of the back of the head and the size of a little bump on the base of the skull. That little bump is called the occipital protuberance and if it is normal to large that li...

Re: Could do with a bit of moral support/commiseration

I used to get hot flashes and night sweats when my apnea was untreated. This is common among people who have long apneas. The apneas drive your blood pressure up, and your body tries to get it down by eliminating water. Thus, sweat and nocturia. Glad you are being treated now! Ah HA! so that's what...

Re: nuance pro nasal pillow

Any suggestions for alternative to nuance pro nasal pillow mask. I find the vent noisey and sometimes leaks when its not seated properly (swivel).. I also find that it leaks when you adjust the swivel vent to different positions. Resmed Airfit P10 nasal pillow mask. It's so quiet, you'll find yours...

Re: 2 months in and have some more questions - UPDATED WITH A NEW QUESTION

Sorry... Hope this helps. Since starting APAP I've been having trouble breathing during the day. Feeling like I'm not getting enough air, shortness of breath, rapid breathing, etc. Chest x-ray is clear and nasal passages and airway seem fine. No other obvious indication of a physical problem. Could...

Re: Angry at my doctor and DME supplier - they tried to spy on me

Hey guys...I might be wrong here but I smell a "fly by". You all can keep responding if you wish but I would wait to see if this person even comes back wanting help or see if they just want to stir up crap. I'm not so sure. Even with the ranting, she filled out her profile, so perhaps she's just ve...

My doctor knocked me out and took a video of my colon. Bastard.
I'd let him do that every night, if I could get sleep like that Propofol they use gives a person, LOL

Re: Could do with a bit of moral support/commiseration

I can feel for you. I've been on cpap therapy successfully for 20 YEARS with the same brick NO DATA single pressure machine, until just after Christmas. So, I've only had subjective feeling of how things have been going all that time. Since Christmas, I've been using an Airsense 10 Autoset machine. ...

Re: What kind of tape do folks use?

1 inch width "Nexcare Sensitive Skin" tape works perfect for me. I fold over a tab on one end in case I ever have a need to rip it off quickly, and tape straight across my entire lip area. Works perfectly. I even discovered that if I carefully put it back on the roll in the morning, I can use it TWO...

Re: help with Sleepyhead

Yes, I was logged into Sleepyhead using that profile. The "67" that I mentioned in my first post was a guess of the number I saw the day before. The screenshot of the message shows the download was 3-13. That is correct. My AirCurve hgas been a day off for as long as I can remember. It shows the da...

Look up the term "sleep debt", and relax a bit more. You need to find out how long your body REALLY needs you to be asleep, and build up to that amount every night.

Re: Night shift and Sleep Apnea

I think I read somewhere that working overnight shifts may increase your likelihood of getting sleep apnea does anyone know about that I used to work overnights for 2 years at a hospital and might want to return, I know I'm weird but I kinda enjoyed the laid back lifestyle. Nothing better than sitt...

Re: Am I the only one who thinks DreamWear nasal mask isn’t good, because....

This was the first mask I tried and it didn't work for me. The exhaust valve on top of my head pulled on my hair and the nasal cushion leaked badly. With more experience under my belt, I plan to try it again. I will jerry rig some kind of liner under the exhaust on top of my head to prevent hair pu...
