I would consciously continue with the dream, but with me in control.

Re: I'm pretty excited
Congrats! Some people seem to have a harder time adjusting than others. When I first started using my machine 11 years ago I had no problems at all. Now, after nearly 2 months of non use since my old machine died and fighting with a incompetent doctors office staff, my new CPAP will be here today. T...

Re: Lost a lot of weight and sleeping terribly
I take Melatonin every night and my insomnia is pretty well gone. I have autoimmune Hepatitis and nonalcoholic Cirrhosis and have to be careful of taking any new medication but my liver doctor said it was OK to take it.

Re: SUFFOCATING WITH CPAP MASK ON
I have been using a CPAP full face mask for about 15 years. I am a veteran and the VA supplies me with all the latest CPAP machines masks and hoses, regularly. Lately, on very rare occasions, such as about an hour ago, I am awakened in the middle of my sleep with a complete lack of oxygen. It's as ...

Terrifying Dreams!!
Thank goodness I get my new CPAP today! The first few weeks after my machine died, I “just “ was not able to get into a sound sleep 😴 and had to nap half the day to make it to bedtime where the same thing was repeated. Then, about 3 weeks ago, I started having some really terrifying dreams. I dreame...

Re: To Humidify or Not
If I end up getting the ResMed AirSense 10, they sell a piece that you insert in place of the humidifier. Amazon has it for around $20. As Pugsy said, you do not need to buy the humidifier replacement for the AirSense 10, but I did to reduce the footprint of the machine by a couple inches. I use th...

Re: New to Forum but not CPAP
If I complain to Medicare, will they actually do something? That I don't know because DME suppliers aren't required by law to stock all the masks out there. Meaning Medicare can't force a DME to sell something if they don't want to stock it. The reason they probably don't want to stock it is they d...

To Humidify or Not
With my new CPAP coming tomorrow, I am once again faced with the decision of whether or not to use the humidifier. I got my most recent machine in 2011. Every time I tried to use the humidifier I felt like I was breathing under water. Does anyone else have this problem?

Re: New to Forum but not CPAP
6 weeks without CPAP is quite a while. I wish you had joined here back then. Some people here, but not me, have backup or other spare machines. I have heard of them lending them, usually for no or little charge. I have only been on CPAP a little over a year so I cannot answer your question. Welcome...

Re: New to Forum but not CPAP
Those masks do work and quite successfully for some people. Just because one person may not like something doesn't mean that all people will feel the same way. Push back and insist they let you try what you want to try. I assume you have Medicare if you are 70 years old....report them to Medicare f...

Re: So...can't wait till Friday
. . .DME . . . does not take medicare. . . . It is not their choice. Actually, Medicare will not deal with a DME who is connected to a sleep lab, because of conflict of interest. I was told it is the law. Funny, BCBS has no problem with spurious connections . . . Aha! So that is why the sleep lab I...

Re: New to Forum but not CPAP
Thanks for the replies! Only 2 more nights w/o a CPAP. Since I have been without a machine for over 6 weeks, I am assuming it will be like starting over. Please tell me i am wrong! LOL
