Re: Oximeter
I am don't have the 50D but I have the CMS50EW and I used a strip of paper tape around it side to side and then a piece wrapped around the tape strips and my finger. Worked all night twice so far.

The S9 is popular, as is the PR System One 60 series.
Once you know the type of machine you need people will be glad to provide a specific model number.

Re: How forceful can I be with my DME?
One thing to keep in mind. The prescription is yours and you have every right to it. The docs send it directly to a DME as "favor" but you still have the option to select the provider of your choice (and maybe your insurance has a little say, if you're wanting them to pay). I would also call the doc...

Re: Bipap problems
Yes because they said I need 30 bars intake pressure I know only way I can get mask to not leak is tighten it up to the point it's hurting my face. Whoa, 30 bars is ~435 PSI! You're never going to get a mask to seal at that pressure. I apologize, but I couldn't resist. Even at 30 cmH20 you're going...

Re: How important is which machine is used and what first?
The machine model is very important! At very least you want a fully data capable machine. Unless you need a specialty machine, you preferably want a auto titrating machine. The machine is the biggest thing you should be concerned about because it's the thing that's going to have to last you the long...

Re: Mouth Breathing?
I'm still unclear as to why nasal air won't open the back of my throat in a FFM just as it does in a nasal mask, and subsequently push air out of my mouth. Does the FFM result in a back pressure of sorts and thereby resist the flow of air through the mouth? A full face mask applies pressure at both...

The REMstar Pro has C-Flex+ which is the pressure relief. Make sure it's set to 3 which is the max setting.

Re: Completely Lost
From everything I've read, you want the auto setting (APAP or VPAP) machine of whichever brand you go with. That will be the PR560/561 by Respironics or the S9 AutoSet by ResMed. I would insist on either of those if you possibly can. You'll also want the heated tube humidification on either of those...
