Re: Development of bumps inside nose

I also have some sore bumps just inside the tip of my nose on each side (same place). My doc suggested applying some Ayr Nasal Ointment, and I do so nightly, but 5 weeks later I still have them. I don't know if these are the result of therapy or not, but I have never had anything like them before. M...

Re: Central Apnea ALTITUDE CHANGE

I have the reverse experience! I live at 3500 ft and took my sleep study at 7500 ft. MANY Centrals at 7500 ft. My therapy at 3500 ft shows far less centrals. Sleep doctor said should would not recommend me moving to a higher elevation.

Re: AGI -- Better than Sleephead thinks!?

What would be your aim in doing so? Your AHI, as reported, is already in sublime territory........why not just mentally note the apparently spurious CA's and move on to the garden? I admit to being on OCD (obsessive compulsive). But some days 75% of my events are like the one above...I just want to...

AGI -- Better than Sleephead thinks!?

Every night I have several CA's that look like this: https://i.imgur.com/7SKRF4Q.png I have read on this forum that his is really a 'junk' CA and not a real one. Can I take a CA like this out of my data to determine my REAL AHI? 35% of my events are CA's and half of them (at least) look like the one...

Re: Understanding Unusual Waveforms

Fix is easy....if you like the way EPR feels then you just increase the minimum a little so that overall average doesn't drop quite so low. Actually, I was testing EPR to see how it feels! I could not sense much of a difference...I am finding my F20 Foam mask very comfortable at both settings! I di...

Understanding Unusual Waveforms

Well, I don't know how unusual it actually is, but this is the first time I have seen this pattern in my data. It has happened 2 out of the last three nights. I recently set my EPR to 1 from being off for about 2 months. Is this waveform indicative of anything identifiable? Both instances happened a...

Re: Why shouldn't you always use the maximum CPAP pressure?

If it isn't causing central apneas and isn't causing any aerophagia discomfort, why shouldn't you just set your CPAP to 20 cm and rest easy? High Pressure can be very uncomfortable...Leaks, Headaches, Dry mouth, and fooling around with you mask all night trying to stop the leaks. Also, You may have...

ResMed Setting for Mask Type

I took a nap the other day and used my Dreamwear instead of my usual face mask. I forgot to change the setting on my Rez...and I woke up with a headache. (I will not make this mistake again.) But it got me thinking.... What does the setting actually change? What is it adjusting for? Does the machine...

Re: 2 months in and have some more questions

Besides Nasal congestion, which I would guess would be rather even all night on the chart, what are other causes of so many instantaneous blips on the chart? I do notice that my hypopnias and RERAs occur concurrent with peaks in flow limitation. I would like to do something about them, but I don't k...

APAP and the Common Cold and/or Flu

Does APAP therapy have any preventative effect on the transmission of cold or flu? I ask because, in what is apparently a BAD flu season, I feel pretty good. Does the Hypo-allergenic filter in the APAP help to keep bugs out of my nose? Does the air pressure kill germs? or move them right out of my b...

Re: A new mask by Philips Amara View and Dreamwear combo

Is this mask available? I don't see it on my suppliers website.
I loved my dreamwear mask for comfort, but I could not control the leaks. Maybe this one would be the best of both worlds.
