Re: for all people who are still tired despite using CPAP, poll
I have used FFM successfully and now using nasal pillows with more success. The only reason I may be tired is that I'm old and we old folks get tired faster than you youngin's, that I may stay up too late and that I might be carrying a little extra weight around that is unnecessary. I'm actively wor...

Re: POLL: How long do you think you had SA before you 'knew'?
Perhaps 3 to 4 years but that is just an estimate. Waking up in the morning with a headache, still not feeling rested and getting very sleepy behind the wheel on road trips over familiar territory were the first signs something was not quite right. Getting more sleep would not correct the issue... i...

Re: Allergy meds and insomnia
I take only loratadine daily in the morning at breakfast and
never have insomnia issues as I'm usually asleep within 15
-20 minutes of hitting the sack.

Re: This CANNOT Be Right.....
I think that I am doing something wrong, and I REALLY need some advice. I have the Activa LT mask and ClimateLine hose, and the hose is CONSTANTLY coming undone from my mask. It is so incredibly annoying to have to keep reattaching it. What should I do? I will be getting a brand new Swift FX in the...

Re: Intro from a newbie/No health insurance
It seems like it would be easier to order from a local DME since they would fit me with right mask. You may find a good DME that will work with you, but most will not be very cooperative with having you trial different masks. They will suggest one mask, fit you for that mask and send you on your wa...

Re: How do you convince a 77 year old to have a sleep study?
...I am too old and I am running out of time and don't have time for this. He certainly is running out of time... but not in the way he thinks. He may be shortening his own time by being in denial or refusing to believe there may be a sleep issue. Take the family approach and ask him to at least ge...

Re: Advice on Swift FX
Although I have used the Breeze nasal pillows for the past 5+ years, I seem to be picking up some leaks... not serious, but still more than before. I am considering trying the Swift FX, and wonder if anyone here who uses this mask would have tips for dealing with leaks with the FX? Thanks in advanc...

Re: how long to try a mask before switching
Back in 2008 I experimented with my Quattro FFM for over a month before settling in with it. Even then there was fiddling afterwards with mainly getting the leaks controlled and keeping the fit comfortable. I used that mask until December 2011 when the switch to the Swift FX was made. I love the Swi...

Re: What is with these doctors? Is breathng important or not?
I have been fortunate not to have to deal with doctors too much in my life. I am getting really pissed off at this whole situation. My first sleep study was on December 1. I was told results would be ready in two weeks. That seemed ridiculous at the time but I figured that was just to give them ple...

Re: now former co-worker
I suspect his lack of enthusiasm for the work is directly related to his untreated apnea and resulting sleepiness during the day. It is very hard to be enthusiastic and give something a good effort when they are sleepy. Was he covered by a company provided medical insurance plan? If so, I would have...

Re: traveling with cpap
Hi, I'll be traveling for a month in Costa Rica and need to travel as light as possible with one small bag. I'd appreciate any tips from people who have experience traveling with cpap or bipap. My machine is Respironics BIPAP Auto M Series with the removable humidifier. I'm tempted to remove the hu...

Re: TSA regulations regarding flying with CPAP
Passengers will be required to take their CPAP machine out of its carrying case and place the device in a bin for x-ray screening. Facemasks and tubing can remain in the carrying case. Last time I went through airport security I did not remove the machine from the bag, was not asked to remove it an...

Re: What you MUST do first before trying to lose weight
All I know is what worked for me during a 6-month 80 lb weight loss many years ago... - daily exercise that consisted only of walking - reduction in the total amount of food consumed daily - consuming a balanced diet with no emphasis on one food over the other Paul, How did CPAP fit in with that? D...
