Re: OT: Protein and Weight Gain

Most folks do not ingest enough fiber... otherwise known as psyllium. Psyllium keeps your digestive system moving along and contributes to that full satisfied feeling thus lowering appetite. I use this: http://www.konsyl.com/ Also better to consume more smaller meals than fewer large meals during th...

Right, but the air that passes over it does, probably even if it is filtered with a MERV 20 HEPA!
That is the same air I breath on a daily basis for the last 55 years.

I never clean my lungs.

That is a serious issue... is he drowsy behind the wheel?

He needs to get this addressed quickly.

Re: Poll: How Often Do You Clean Your Tank?

Used the same tank since 2008 with only distilled water. The only "cleaning" the tank gets is an occasional empty when I need to pack it up for a trip. The tank is as clear today, and no level rings, as it was when new. How would it get dirty? ...there is nothing in distilled water that would cause ...

Re: Healthcare providers and insurance -Lack of understanding???

Yeah but the medical folks need to keep their boat payments paid, so they dont care who they gouge. I quickly learned that unless insurance is paying the lion's share I am best to cut out the red-tape and purchase my own equipment online at non-DME pricing. So, take a look at online pricing and dec...

Is this something that is checked during the sleep studies?

...if so, I seem to have missed that part.

Re: Can't sleep without Cpap now!

A few nights ago, our electricity went off for about 2 hours. I got up for awhile, but was sleepy, so went back to bed and tried to go to sleep without my cpap. I found that I couldn't breathe good enough to go back to sleep. That is scary! Has anyone else had this happen to them. I have been on cp...

Re: Using nasal mask/head cold

New to CPAP, but smart enough to know I better wear the darn thing. I have a nasal mask, wondering what the alternatives are when you can't breathe through the nose? Any other options besides a full mask, where can I buy one? Thanks Just me... but I have always found when in the throws of a cold wi...

Re: Auto Cpap better for sensitive users?

At the outset of my treatment I spent a good long time, several weeks, experimenting with slow changes with my AutoSet to get it working for me. Eventually I had the pressure adjusted down to a fairly narrow range; however, I get my best results with the machine in CPAP mode. There were a few times ...

Re: CPAP and Airport Clearance

Are there any special procedures I need to know about when clearing the TSA check point with my equipment? Nothing special other than comply with what is requested. My flying experience has varied at the check points from them wanting to swab the equipment to them not even opening the bag to check ...

Re: Taking my mask off subconsciously at night

Early on I did that a night or two... remove the mask. What I found that worked was more of a mental conditioning than anything else. The next day I simply said to myself several times that I needed this therapy and would not be removing the mask again that evening... it worked and have not had an i...

How many of you out there have or had Bruxism ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruxism Teeth grinding/clenching)?? Raised hand... yep, I have that. I have a custom dental appliance that I wear along with the mask each night. My teeth took a beating before I had the appliance. I still have them all bu...
