Re: Off Topic: On Sunday

Using public access for internet is a sure way to have a string of IPs tagged to your name, any one of which may get tied to some other user later, exactly as Minnie Maunder says. Also, the IP for your home system isn't guaranteed to stay static. It is only as long as your connection to your ISP rem...

Re: Poll: Should OT posts be banned from cpaptalk.com?

If there's no interest in a thread with no further posts, it dies naturally by scrolling into obscurity. (until it's exhumed for some reason) That can happen very quickly, too. The oldest response on Page 2 at this moment was posted 6:47 am, Friday, Nov 20, 2 1/2 days ago! The oldest response on pa...

Re: Poll: Should OT posts be banned from cpaptalk.com?

Personally I don't care but I just find it strange that this forum does not sub forums in order to help organize information so it can be more easily found. I know at times when I read them there is a lot of new stuff and hard to keep up with everything that has been posted. Compartmentalizing stuf...

Re: OT Medicare supplement insurance

I know that UPS drivers often fail to ring the doorbell or knock. They just drop the box and scamper. Always complain when this happens. That's a result of the oh so prevalent American business ethic of money first, customer second. I understand the drivers are under pressure to get deliveries done...

Re: OT Medicare supplement insurance

I am not on Medicare but my insurance forces us to get all maintenance drugs from their mail order so my insulin comes next day packed in a Styrofoam cooler but requires a signature so if I am not home UPS keeps it on their truck and several times by the time I get it It is warm. I have asked the U...

Re: OT Medicare supplement insurance

One huge downside you need to be aware of, and one big reason your brother-in-law doesn't want to drop their coverage, is if a Federal retiree drops his/her insurance coverage for even one month he cannot ever pick it back up. So when you are encouraging your sister and her husband to shop around k...

Can you leave your veiled politics out of it? It is a pretty safe bet we are split about 50/50 here since apnea doesn't seep to pick sides. There are millions of sites where you can argue your particular brand of politics. We could get into it but there would be nothing gained (other than boring so...

Re: Chat Forum

The church had had an episode of strong dissension and part of the congregation left. A ship was sailing past a remote island and discovered a man who had been stranded there for several years. They went ashore to rescue the man and noticed he had built three huts for himself. They asked him, "What...

Re: data card not inserted all the way, last night.

WhenI put my data card in last night it didn't lock in. When I reinsert it this morning how much of my data will I download, Did I lose my detailed data for that day? Yes. The S9 retains summary data only and that for 1 year. There are three levels of data, summary, detailed, and high resolution. T...

Re: OT: Daily Funny bone

Dear Abby, I've been married to my husband since college, but he is a liar and a cheat. He has cheated on me from the beginning and, when I confront him. he denies everything. What's worse, everyone knows that he cheats on me. It is so humiliating. Also, since he lost his job fourteen years ago, he ...

Re: data card replacement?

Mine crapped out totally after about 2 to 3 years, or maybe even longer, in the machine. I removed it very few times so it was subjected to electrical wear only.

Re: Chat Forum

Well n2it, if you're still reading I have a couple more thoughts to share. A few years ago there was a member here, EricinNC, who ranted and raved and threatened lawsuits against Resmed and I don't know who all. He made a particularly uncalled for diatribe against me, so I sent a PM to Carolyn Goodm...

Re: converter vs inverter battery setup

BTW, make sure the battery you get is labeled "deep cycle." "Dual purpose" will also work, especially since you're probably only using it a dozen times a year, or less. Don't assume that any "marine" battery is deep cycle. That's right. The ones at Costco are labeled marine/deep cycle I believe. An...
