Setting Time
Can you reset the time on a Remstar Auto CPAP? I'm trying to do some time relationships between La Machina and night time/sleep/waking events and the difference between "real" time and La Machina's time makes it a little cumbersome. It might be easier to just set my clock to La Machina time. Shouldn...

XPAP making funny noises???
A friend who is a hospital social worker went to a DME provider presentation this week. July 1 Medicare is going to a purchase outright rather than capped rental process in obtaining PAP, beds, wheelchairs etc. In the new system the DME will immediately become the property and responsibility of the ...

Gee--it was sooo reassuring
I made an appt at the local Apria office to have my APAP checked out (since Medicare pays them to do that twice a year whether or not I take it in. The RT did not know how to get to the clinician menu and once I got him there he didn't know what to do. BTW--take your machine in now to get it checked...

Actually still working-in unexpectedly long process of trying to get Medicare & insurance to pay for BiPAP. Can't tell if Apria is trying to help assure I get it or not. And I've add puzzles, crossword puzzles, Kandoodles, beading, reading recipe books, meditation, midnight cpaptalk, listening to th...

Second Anniversary
Gee...missed my second anniversary Saturday. 5119 hours. 100% compliant during sleep-do have some nights of insomnia when I just took the mask off and played computer solitaire. Still some complaints but overall sleeping better and feeling better.

Absolutely. Went through the steps a few times and downloaded the card twice before erasing one of them. Same thing happened with both downloads. Think I'll go out and see what happens when I open previous reports. Previos report are OK. Get an error message that a subscript is out of range. The inf...

Invisible Data/Encore Blind/Missing Data
Hm... I downloaded 6 days of data. When I ask for a detailed report I get the first three pages; pressures, compliance bars and long term trends. Then one blank page and the final summary (6 pages in all). No daily report of FLs, apneas, hypopneas etc. But when I go to My Encore-the numbers are ther...

Have you seen this doc and had any recent test that you don't have the results for? If not they have no business calling you on Sunday and causing undue anxiety. Anything they know on Sunday was known on Saturday, probably Friday. Did they miss or forget something? Have they made any bad decisions i...

Not sure, but there probably would be differences in the numbers derived by most home machines when compared to a sleep lab. If you have the software you can however compare the numbers you get with your particular machine from one week to another. The other problem is that your breathing can vary n...

There isn't a lot of info on Binswangers-hasn't been for as long as it has had a name. It is however one of the vascular dementia. You already know it is related to strokes. So if it is early in the process controlling risk factors for stroke and heart attack is thought to slow down vascular dementi...

It probably isn't simply an issue of the nurses not making your Father wear his mask. I don't know how good a job they were doing with his care-so I won't necessarily defend them. If he refused to use the XPAP they have few choices. If he is considered competent he has a choice and staff cannot forc...
